Superb standard and high definition picture quality, great design and fantastic sound quality. Setting up the screen couldn't have been any easier either as works preety much straight out of the box

It's hard to think of any. I wasn't overy pleased with the factory pre-set picture setting but these can be altered without any problems (don't let this put you off)

Fab TV and an absolute bargain. We purchased a bracket which again was so easy to fit to this TV. All in all a great buy and I would highly recommend it. We were undecided on whether we should go plasma or LCD but so glad we went plasma!!!

Very intuitive to set up and use particularly in our case connected to an LG HDD/DVD recorder. We opted for plasma over LCD as we have small kids with sticky fingers and though it may seem an odd reason to base a decision upon, we have been vindicated already as it is a very sleek and easily cleaned unit. Connecting up was a doddle too.
-
Not blown away by picture quality but without another similar product to compare with in our living room it would be unfair to blame this on LG. We are without doubt sitting too close to a 42" TV and the picture is much better when sitting further away. Do bear this in mind when choosing your TV and for once listen to the sales person who will no doubt tell you to pick a smaller model (blokes eh). Also bear in mind that the TV you see in store is running on a demo mode that turns up colour and brightness dramatically. It won't look like that at home unless you wan't to pay a Las Vegas style electicity bill. Most of these points however are generic to big screen TVs and the LG is a cheap way to get a very smart and very capable 42" plasma which will not disapoint but don't expect miracles.

Fantastic TV. everything I want from a tv and more, excellant picture and sound quality, easy to use, does have auto install, even though description says it hasn't. USB slot is really usefull, digi cams, divx films, and music straight from any USB device. The auto brightness and contrast is fantastic. The menu for freeview channels is clear and easy to use. Picture quailty excellant even very close up, does not pixelate. Can't recommend this T.V. enough!!!!! A**************************************

Smooth glass fronted design. The ability to plug a portable USB Hard Drive into the side and play DivX movies without connecting a PC to it. Overall this is a fantastic product and I'm really pleased I ignored the LCD hype and bought a plasma instead.

- excellent menu system.
- very easy to use and set up.
- has an proffessional picture option (for people who want to tweak picture settings to get the best picture).
- clear voice mode to make the voices louder than the background noise (which a lot of films and tv programmes suffer from).
- plenty of inputs (3 hdmi, pc, components, scarts. ect).
- usb so you can play video files from the internet straight on your tv (divx, avi) and mp3's and pictures.
- can display 1080p 24p
-
- basic looking remote control.
- sound is not very bass intensive.
- not a big problem but you do get some screen burn issues especially in the first 200 hours of the sets life( like the bbc's " press the red button" and certain channels having thier logo constantly in the corner) but this can be easily remedy buy changing to another channel and the logo dissapears from the screen.

The size is excellent, it has a usb port which means you can play music, show pictures or play videos off a pen drive. I also like that you can set the energy saving to either automatic or a manual setting of your choosing.

It only has 2 SCART switches, so if you aren't using HD yet and have a lot to connect to it, you will have to compromise somewhere. Sometimes it can be hard to tell it's switched off!

An amazing TV with great features. (definitely under-priced). It has features that other TVs don't have, especially for this price. USB port is very handy to watch movies downloaded from the internet. Also to listen to music on your TV via mobile phone or usb stick. Also you can view your pictures via your camera and mobile phone. (the pictures look great on the screen). 3HDMI.
The Single layer screen looks great...nothing like it on the market.
Keeping all the picture settings on 50 is good enough for general viewing.
Plasma picture quality is far superior to LCD. Plasma is better for fast motion, darker blacks but this TVs whites are whiter then a LCD. Check the spec's on LG site then compare them to a top range LCD TV.
Good Picture...Good Sound....Great TV. The only down side is 720p but I don't see it as a bad thing as I knew that before I brought it. Also its very hard to tell the difference between 720p n 1080p. I would have to say I can't tell the difference. Haven't tried HD. But I expect it to be great.
Also 720p is better for Standard Definition than 1080p. One last thing Picture quality gets better with age. (after 200 hours of viewing). Keep contrast low during this period.
Also I have not come across Image burn except when I connected it to my PC. But I only saw it because I was looking for it.

Excellent value and beautiful picture. Even though the resolution is not full HD, HD feeding signal from cable is exceptional. The pictures settings need some adjusting. The volume is very loud even and most of the time the TV is in the bottom part of the volume control. The design is the best I have seen - simple and elegant. The glass front is easy to clean too. Plasma look bettwer so much better than average quality LCD for similar price.

Very variable automatic settings, some of which look quite dim lit. But these are manually adjustable through very simple menu system.

having to keep going into menu for changing different uses eg. dvd player, usb, etc. not so good for ease of use for young kids. on my old telly the kids could pop in dvd or other things and it would auto play with this they have to keep going into menu to set it up. but would stress this would not be a good enough reason not to buy this tv!

Easy to set up and the Picture is Fab even off HD
-
The controller could do with a button that automatically swaps between scart inputs and HD inputs not having to scroll through a menu - That is the ONLY niggle (petty isn't it)

Vibrant colour picture.
One piece glass screen asthetically pleasing.
-
Sound not excellent.
Does not have a "smart" widescreen mode, like our previous other brand television had.

Very good clean design and modern layout.
Sound is very good compared to other LCD/Plasmas I have had in the past, so if you don't want to spend extra on a surround sound system this is ideal.
Image quality is pretty good even on freeview.
Black levels on this set are superb and the picture tweaks you can make in the menu should get a decent picture for everybodys differing likes/dislikes.
Lastly because of the brilliant black levels and superb motion this LG Plasma is brilliant at gaming via my Xbox 360 with no lag whatsoever - don't let anybody convince you that you need 1080p for gaming, because you don't.
-
I have noticed it is not as good as my Panasonic PX80B Plasma on poorer/older material and sources, it is a fair bit sharper hence it shows up every flaw and can throw in a very off colour palette now and again.
I have also noticed a slight banding which shows up very badly in skin tones on all sources HD, DVD and Freeview - no matter how I tweak it this is still pretty apparent.
To lower the chance of Temporary Image Retention go into your menu and activate the Orbiter and keep your settings on the cinema/standard and off the vivid setting for the first couple of months of use and then adjust the settings to whatever levels suit your eye after that.

I bought this for the amazing picture quality of SD TV. Compared to some 1080p lcd in the same price range there was no contest. Plenty of connections, USB port, glass front screen which looks great when wall mounted.
-
Small gripe, not able to scroll through channels while watching something.

The image quality and colours are really good. The product is easy to use and has a lot of features.
-
The sound seems to have a constant surround feature which can make the sound become "tinny". I have tries several methods but can not seem to turn of this feature.

Attractive design, easy setup, nice to browse menus. What I really like about this TV, and what made me decide to buy this one is its USB port for playing movies, music and photos stored on the USB. I don't need my XBOX 360 to play movies on the TV anymore, however, some movies will not play if not properly encoded to the size requirements, but these are rare.
It has an excellent freeview menu/guide... A very fantastic feature is its HDMI port when used in conjunction with an HD output laptop. This is the first time I am able to read the text properly from my computer's desktop or word documents when connected to a TV.
I have not tried HD movies, but I realized HD from COD4 on my XBOX .. I had to play the game again and again to enjoy the many details that I messed prior to this TV. Text can be read, and all the game's options can be recognized now. Sound quality is excellent also, I won't need a sound system.
-
It is not major issue, but reflections of daylight from windows are noticable with this glass TV, however, this is easily dealt with by either closing the curtains, or rotating the TV easily due to its rotatable stand.

I am very happy with my purchase, I can not fault the quality of the tv or the ease of an online purchase through yourselves. The price is Something Else, Very Impressive. Keep up very competetive prices like that, and you'll have consistent business through and through. thanks.

This TV was very easy to set up with picture quality excellent. We have had a few visitors who have made comment about how good the set is. I now have to watch my Sky Football in the dining room on the smaller 37"!! as the rest of the family have claimed the LG Set.

Need two people to take out of box and carry to stand as weight is a bit too much for a single person.
