+ Reliable piece of equipment. Does the job with the minimum of effort. Easy to clean. No clogging up and having to scrape bits out of the bowl. Works well if using it for small or large quantitites of food/mixes.

- Personally, I can't think of any. I have had a Kenwood for the past 35 years, and that is why I have bought this one for my daughter, because I believe it to be the best.

+ The Kenwood Chef we had is nearly 30 years old and it is still going on with no trouble. As we like it so much, we bougth this as an Eid gift for our daughter-in-law. This product is much better than the one we got. Some of the improvements are that the bowl is made of stainless-steel, easier to open for cleaning and very stylish.

+ It has alot of features like the food chopper and the liquidizer which come with it. It is compact and easy to clean.

- The edge of the mixing bowl is quite sharp not as smooth as it could be and dough tends to get stuck easier to this type of bowl compared to the plastic bowls. However if you mix the dough with the spatula from the start of mixing you can somewhat overcome this nuisance.

+ Design/shape allows the mixer to fit neatly into a corner on the worktop unlike the larger model. Although the appearance is much smaller I can still mix the same quantity of mixture in this model. Was quite surprised to read that the compaq model has a larger motor than the original larger model. All of the accessories work very well and runs very quietly. I like the way the plug/cord tucks neatly into the back of the machine. Overall, makes cake mixing etc very quick and easy.

- The stainless steel mixing bowl could be a bit smoother inside, this would make it easier to clean and is a bit sharp around the edges.

+ This is the second Chef I have owned - it does what it says on the box!
Good points: I like the new plastic insert under the bowl (my previous one was aluminium with foam (?) cushioning which was hard to keep clean and looked nasty.
Having previously used a tea towel as a splash guard it is good to have a plastic one! Seems to work well and is simple to use.

- The dial for speed settings is a bit cheap and tinny but is perhaps better on more expensive models.
When I 'close' the Chef ready for mixing there is 'play' in the catch which results in the beaters not operating as close to the bottom of the bowl as they should. I have yet to review the instructions as to how I can lower the beaters slightly to overcome this.

- Button to remove beaters not available so have to lift top to do this. Depending on mixture this can be a bit messy. Setting of beater can mean you have to push mixture down from sides of bowl quite a few times.

+ Compact design means it will fit into a pan drawer, and also takes us less counter space when in use.
The modern design and silver colour suit modern kitchens.
Most of the parts can be cleaned in the dish washer, and are easy to clean.
The mixer is good and does a decent job of mixing. The processor is quite good and versatile.

- The processor chopping and grating blades leave a gap between the blade and the top of the processor lid, which means unchopped pieces of food can get trapped and / or fall through into the bowl. When loaded, the processor can make the mixer vibrate when in use.

+ Everything is good about this product except with small adjustment below to make this machine a perfect product

- It would be a perfect product for small bakers or homemaker who loves to bake if you put a handle on the mixing bowl for easy holding. It makes pouring the batter into piping bag or in baking tin a lot easier. I use your product to make many batches of Italian meringue for my business. The boiling sugar is pour on egg white without stopping the whisking process until you get the right consistency batter. If you adjust your design slightly to accommodate this feature, you will sell more of these machines to small businesses like us. It is so hard to pour boiling sugar now but if you make the mixing bowl slightly bigger, it will do the work. Just a small adjustment, I am sure these machines will be popular for small businesses

- Not so sturdy and well built as the old one was (plastic used where old one was metal). Too easy to accidentally give a the mixer a high-speed 'pulse' when switching off. Some of the accessories from the old one do not fit the new one so need to be replaced.

+ The product enables the cook to achieve a wide variety of recipes with just the one machine.
I like it especially because it is comparatively compact despite its range.
The liquidiser is ideal for soups in preference to a food processor because it creates real smoothness.
Hand kneading can be time consuming and tedious so the dough hook is a bonus.
The whisk achieves a lightness and fluffiness not easily obtained by hand whisking.

- Although a spatular is included I find that when baking, despite using a gentle speed, butter and sugar tend to be dispersed up the sides of the bowl and constantly need pushing back down.
I have wondered if this bowl is steeper sided than the previous bowls.
We have had Kenwood Chefs for forty years. I can't recall this being an issue previously. Is there a solution to this?

jennifer, gloucestershire , “cooks from scratch”

+ It does all that it sets out to do, and we have since bought the turbo slice attachment. I don't know how I mangaed the chutney and preserving season without it! I had a very very old Chef which had finally given up the ghost, and I am equally pleased, actually more pleased with this new one, as there are even more attachements available than there was with my very old one.

- When the attachements are on, the drive for the beater doesn't disengage, which can then hit the tools stored in the bowl. But not a problem as long as you remember to take them out first!

+ I had a Kenwood chef for 35 years and used it very regularly. Laterly it didn't work so well. I bought a new version and I am very happy with it. No complaints and very reasonably priced.

- Unable to collapse it so it doesn't use space - but what does?

+ It is the perfect Kitchen helper. It does all the hard work for you

- A bit bulky. It takes up quite a bit of room in the cupboard as processor attatchments cannot stack inside one another.
