+ it is a dream to use. So much quieter than my last smaller kenwood. The 1500w motor makes mixing larger quantities so effortless therefore less work for me. All the controls are very easy to use and the speed regulates very evenly.

- Itstill is not quiet enough for me to hear the radio when the mix is on maximum, but the bigger motor means I dont mix for as long.

I have had a kenwood mixer before and everything which I felt could be improved has been with this new model. i.e. more robust bowl cover, flexible beater to avoid having to keep scraping down the sides of the bowl, smoother start when switching on. Very pleased!

+ Well engineered robust piece of machinery. Soft K beater is a definite improvement, quieter running, copes easily with larger quantities. Haven't used the food processer attachment yet but will definitely buy the ice-cream maker.

- Heavy - would not be suitable for a frail person. Beaters are heavy and I needed to get used to knowing that they were properly located but it is fine now - just a learning curve.

+ Large amounts of mixture it can cope with
Solid machine which gives the impression of quality
Relatively quiet in action

- Very heavy to tote around kitchen
Does not have a plastic cover for the machine
Comes with extras which may not be used very frequently. I feel the purchaser should have the option of buying all extras, or not.

+ Kenwoods reputation goes before them. This is a real kitchen 'work horse' before moving up to the professional catering equipment.

- We like to cook with wine, sometimes we even put it in the food. Kenwood does not have a bottle opener attachment.

+ This is probably the most solidly built mixer in existence. It's also got a very high power motor and a large capacity to cope with big projects. It's not cheap, but it's extremely well made, looks great and of course can use the whole range of Kenwood attachments and accessories.

- A timer would be useful, but not at all essential.

+ Large capacity bowl so I can make and freeze - very helpful as I don't have time to keep on making!

- It was extremely difficult to adjust the height of the mixer attachments - in the end it needed the provided spanner, plus an assortment of tools to hold the thing steady whilst wrenching at the over-tight but to get it to move.

+ I think the food processor attachment is really good, much less bulkier than a stand alone one. It makes fab cakes and biscuits. I will be getting the citrus press attacment, and some others. It looks good as well, mush nicer than my old one. Its very powerful and has the biggest bowl I could find (Outside looking for an industrail one like a hobart)
The splash guard is handy and stops mess going all over the place. Its light weight as well.

- Yet to notice any

+ Brilliant heavy duty machine. I make bread weekly so the powerful motor makes light of it. My old Kenwood ran out of steam after nearly 30 years continual use. Lets hope the new model lasts as long.

- The new style of bowl doesn't seem as good as the old one. You need the special rubber K beater to be able to gather all the mixture together.
