Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 - 3 user

+ Very good protection. It picked up several infected items on my PC that were not picked up by a competitive commercial product. Very easy to use although the range of configurable options can be a little confusing.

- No bad points really - but it would be good to have a feature to clean up temporary internet files and selected cookies (rather than all cookies).

+ Easy to install and easy to use. Gives more details on scans and also eta's on them unlike other AV products which can allow you to schedule them around you using your computer.

+ It has done what it should, and has intercepted a virus during the month of use. My previous internet security product did not work properly with Thunderbird, but Kaspersky seems to be fine.

- I have found it disconcerting to have to switch off Kaspersky in order to install programmes. I should have preferred to have been given an option whether or not to continue.

+ It works efficiently in the baclground. It provides good protection without me intervening. its very easy to use.

- When the update has overdue, it should automatically update itself, not put up a notice and expect me to click it.

+ i love kaspersky because you know your comouter is protected all the time. If i download music and the file carry's a virus Kaspersky tells me this before any damage can e done its totally peace of mind!! :-)

+ not up to tech no side of things , a friend rated you so I purchased the product and he installed it for me after I had gained 38 viruses, since installation and visiting same type of sites you have kept me clean.

- I found it really hard to install and it has spent the last few weeks scanning my computer. I don't know how to stop it and I have no idea what to do about the problems it claims to have found. I thought it ought to put them right automatically.

- It stops my internet, I have to pause it get internet working then put it back on, and interferes with other products all the time!

+ The new interface is excellent and the ability to view vulnerabilities in existing software is brilliantm Spotted loads of problems that were missed by Avira.

- It has left a corrupt file on my system that I cannot delete. This means I cannot defrag my hard disk.

+ Good clear interface, particularly like the preview of emails facility. Seems to do all it should and having upgraded from previous version I look forward to continuing the realtionship!

The virus protection needs a regular updating and it sometimes gives me headache. But once is fixed, my life gets nice and easy.

- the fact that old previously uninstalled anti-virus software gets picked up and you have to go through the long winded installation process instead of the click and go method.

+ Thhis amazing product has kept my pc squeaky clean since I installed it! It actually seems to learn as it goes along - and although a few bits get through initially - the programme captures them and KILLS them! My pc is kept sparklingly clean and baddy free...... Having tried other products, I thoroughly recommend Kaspersky - they actually seem to care about their customers too. I'm very mean and won't spend a lot on my pc - but Kaspersky was worth every penny! Thank you xxxxxxx

- Some of the instructions and the way it works are a bit complex for someone like me who doesn't really understand pc computerspeak - can we have it a bit more step by step so I get the full benefits please??? I feel that I am shying away from using some of the tools because I simply don't speak geekspeak at all - and this is stopping me from even approaching using them .. it still works well - but I am sure it could work way better if I only understood a lot of the jargon used - or if there was a - want us to do it for you button .... sorry - yes I am an idiot - but idiots own pcs as well! laughs xx

+ Doesn't seem to eat up system resources (like Norton!) or need a lot of interaction/maintenance (Bitdefender!). So far, hasn't thrown up any false negatives (both norton and Bitfdefender quarantined harmless application files) Can install and forget.

please note : Clever people do clever things to show how clever they are , Really clever people keep things as simple as posible , Kaspersky have failed in this .

- Completely slowed my system down, would not switch web pages, emails were a nightmare. Uninstalled after 2 days and went back to just running Kaspersky Anti virus

- No user guide: I don't know what to do when a scan tells me that I have a threat.

- No good at all for people who are not very IT literate. Poor customer back-up support. Not user friendly once you finally get it installed.

+ Good detection rate, great value for money, has a sandbox mode that allows files to be tested away from the operating system. Only had the product a few weeks, but overall very impressed with it. Footprint and resource wise, not sure of its performance, but the product notes mention minimal resource usage, so I am hopeful.

- The interface and the first dashboard can be a little confusing it does not provide on the front page that says that threats have been eliminated

- I had to get a friend with knowledge of computers to give me a hand to install and set it up something went wrong and I am not a wizz with computers and it was in computer jargon so it lost me completely. Saying things in plain english would help maybe have it as an option!!!!
