+ The Camera is very light and easy to use.

- Using it as a still camera it is difficult to get a clear picture when using the zoom. The picture quality is not as good on still photos as the video mode.

+ Light, easy to carry, ease of use, excellent storage capacity and zoom. Not too many fancy bits. Fast transfer to PC.

- Needs carry case. Needs sunshade for LCD screen. Transfer to PC can be a bit tricky as the video files go out of order due to odd labelling system. Transfer them, then click the taken date to put them into the correct order. Spare batteries a bit expensive but Hahnel do a cheaper one that seems to be as good as the original.

+ I used my JVC HDD camcorder to film a wedding in Germany. Having so much storage space meant I hadn't got worry about carrying media around with me all the time.

- Eats the old battery up. I forked out for the 1400Mah which makes it bearable. The plus side is the battery charges pretty quickly. The image quality of still shots has a lot to be desirable but it is a sub-1mega pixel camera. Also the editing software appears very slow, on the same PC I used a different vendors software which was fine.

- The battery provided as standard has poor life, better ones are available to buy separately but with such an expensive product a longer life battery should be provided as standard. Even a camcorder case is not supplied as standard.

+ Easy to use, easy to copy video to PC, small, light, good optical zoom. doesn't need tapes

- file extension is .mod instead of .mpg not sure why, and can't delete files from camcorder or copy files to camcorder over USB from the PC file manager which is a bit naff.
