Indesit TA5S Reviews: Standard, White fridge freezer

+ We wanted a big larder style fridge and just a small freezer as we have a chest freezer in garage. This is like a big American style larder fridge which is easy to clean and nice to look at. This was actually our second as my husband burst the first one by defrosting it with a chisel and hammer! And we liked it so much we bought the same one again. Cant really fault it.

- Not really anything, the glass shelves are a bit of a pain to manouvre about. Broke one and it shattered into a million like glass cubes. Apart from that nothing.

+ Excellent Value for money.

- This is the second one I have bought.The first one is still in use, this is not a replacement! On the first one both the plastic salad containers have broken where the fronts join the trays/ containers. I wait to see if this will happen on the second one. Do you supply spares?

+ The freezer, although small in comparison to the fridge, is a very useful size for a 2nd indoor freezer. It is surprising just how much food can be loaded onto the shelves. Drawers can be awkward to use and the two shelves in this appliance probably hold as much as 2 - 2.5 drawers worth in another. The fridge is BIG - it's great!

- We did not have the space to keep this appliance as the door does not open within its own parameters ie. you need a space larger than 70cm for the elbow of this bowed door to open into. No retailer seems to tell you this in the write up!

+ Loads of space, treat it as a larder, throw anything in there eg crates of lager, its quiet, it looks good and has a wow factor when visitors open up the fridge part. Although not frost free, the build up of ice is very slow, its not an issue really. Also i like the door having an ice cube tray integrated into it.

- i am always running out of space in the freezer section. I dont want to turn on my chest freezer just for that extra bag of chips. So its always a squeeze to push it all in.
Also unless you really are looking for a larder, due to the capacity of the fridge, if you open it up often, the fridge may not be sufficiently cool unless you do like i do and hike the settings dial to 4 or 5(max), then it is fine, i found medium 3 just too low so food wasnt cool enough.
Finally a minor point but i would have like to have seen a better lighting arrangement to help light up more parts of the fridge. Actually all these bad points are minor really, i wouldnt swap it for any other.

+ It seems really efficient and it is very quiet running. Plenty of space.
Overall, I have a large, family fridge, with an extra freezer space (always useful!) that is 'A' rated (very important to me), for a very reasonable price. I couldn't give it 10/10 otherwise they would stop trying!

- When removing the stickers,marks are still visible on surface.Must look for better stickers that don`t leave marks.

+ Fantastis BIG fridge. The fridge part is bigger than the two door american style fridges. Good freezer size for in the kitchen if you have a chest freezer in the garage. Wider than most tall fridge freezers - huge fridge for family. Filled the space i had available better than a narrower model.

- The plastic holder in the milk rack fell off - does not affect use.
