Indesit IDL 40 Reviews: Freestanding, 45cm wide, Multi Dishwasher

+ Easy to install.
Good compact design.
Quiet enough to run at night.

- Interiior is a little small to cope with bigger pots.

+ Fits well under my counter and is very quiet, cleans well.

- Have broken one or two glasses when shutting door but this could be me been in a rush!!

+ It does not take up a lot of space. Is simple to use. Choice of programmes is very clear. Good performance. Bought for elderly relative who had never used a dishwasher before - quickly got used to it.

- The trays seem a bit flimsy - especially the top one. The door sometimes does not stay down and needs to be kept open with the lower tray.

+ very good value for money. we are a family of 2 adults and a messy little boy. only need to put dish washer on approx 2-3 times per week.

- spacing for plates is a bit close together. This is not a major problem, simply use alternate spaces. ;-)

+ its a good slimline dishwasher for a small kitchen. its not as noisy as i thought it would be and i am very pleased with my purchase. my mum bought one and suggested i buy one to and am very glad i did.

- Being a slim line it is hard to load up there is not really enough room in this for a total days dishes so I am still having to wash by hand for a family of 3 but if I had had the room I would have brought a full size!!

- I know it's slimline but I've had one before thatb fitted more stuff in - this one doesn't take long to fill up at all and I find that it's not good for glassware as there's no way of standing up big wine glasses so they don't end up stained with soapscum when they come out!

- very noisy,cycle times (time 4 you and eco)are quite long.However,if you use the quick cycle the dishes are not well washed at all!At the end of the cycles the dishes are not well dried.

- Glasses fall over when moving upper rack. Door needs holding down until bottom rack is pulled out.

- Drawer sticks all the time so you have to tug it and nine times out of ten the contents are scattered everywhere.

- doesnt clean dish's, honestley dont buy this if you a machine that wash's dish's

- Top rack doesn't pull out easily. It tends to stick, but otherwise it's been fine.

+ Not too bad for the price, could be better though!

- Poorly designed, cannot fit a full-size dinner plate behind cutlery rack; larger mugs fall off upper rack - ledge is not large enough; lastly, product made in China.

+ Similar to the one we had previously - we knew this suited our plates ,etc

- I like it now but it was a shock to find the setting knob could be left in position and does not move round. The warning should be more obvious. I did turn the knob clockwise and wondered why I got a nasty noise.

- Very small inside. Everything is very tight, which affects washing quality - often even with extra rinse dirt is stack to dishes. With common size dishes at the bottom upper shelf has to go to higher setting, which means that there is no room for tall glases or top layer of cups.

- Difficult to get lots of crockery in the top shelf and the cutlery basket is annoying and gets in the way.

I use programme 3 and find that dishes do not always come out clean and are usually smeary.
You need a degree to fit 9 place settings in it!

+ Does the job and actually cleans fairly well. It is small but you can fit a fair amount in it.

- There does not seem to be any system of letting you know when the salt/rinse aid has run out (no warning light etc) so you just have to wait for everything to go a bit cloudy!!

+ I bought the dishwasher for my daughter as she moved into her first property and especially with her having a young baby, she has found this a tremendous help and certainly saves time and amazed at the cleanliness and dryness on all items, after the cycle has finished.

+ Washes well on the quick programme as long as dishes have been soaked and food not left to dry on. Don't really used the other ones. Some machines have more than 4 programmes, but this seems to do the job.

- A timer would have been nice. I have used a time clock and when it came riound to a period of on again, the machine started to re-wash. I have not yet received my extra warranty materials though.

+ it has a fast wash cycle ,which i have never seen on any other dish washer at that price.

- the dial for the programes do not tell you what the temperture it washes at just the program number.

+ Everything - all items come out looking brand new - you think your glasses etc. are clean but when they come out of the dishwasher you realise they were not when washing by hand. I've gained a whole work surface back (this was always stacked with dishes etc. waiting to be washed) and also my draining board is now always completely clear (washed items were always sitting there drying before).

- None at all. Wish we'd bought one years ago, when I was working and even now that I'm retired I don't know what I'd do without it.

+ good size. fits well into modern small kitchen. cycle times quite good. washes well.

- Dinner plates on outer slots on bottom rack prevent upper rack from sliding in & out.
Having upper tray on lower lower slider to give room for taller glasses & mugs means there is not enough height below for dinner plates.
Eco program is too long.

+ Good number of items can be put inside this smaller than average dishwasher - great for 2 or 3 people, when a standard size dishwasher really wouldn't be worth the size. Also good for kitchens where there is limited space but you need a dishwasher because you and your partner are out at work all day.

+ Quiet machine - slimline

- Very small area for cups, bowls etc. (Smaller than my previous slimline dishwasher) laso dryer not good and wash cycles very long.
