Indesit IDL 40 Reviews: Freestanding, 45cm wide, Multi Dishwasher

+ Fits into the limited space

+ Nice looking and we like the Eco cycle. Although very long, the dishes are very clean and only a tad wet on the bottoms.

- Feet don't adjust to allow stablising on an uneven surface. Our cups and glasses are always falling over in the top. Not enough room for larger items like mixing bowles. Door does not stay down without bottom basket being pulled out.

+ We chose this model as we could only fit a slimline model in our kitchen. I was impressed that the indesit scored a,a,and a in various categories and is also really good value for money. There is not much choice for slimline dishwashers but this is one of the cheapest and has a good choice of programmes.

+ In its price range it is the best buy. The Indesit Slimline saved us from endless nights of washing dishes and is the perfect buy if you are considering getting a dishwasher. The size means you do not need to wait for it to full up and can do a clean every night.

+ I had the previous indesit model to this one and it had lasted 6 years hopefully this one will do the same! Had found the previous one to be very satisfactory. This slimline model in silver is very stylish, very attractive with the other stainless steel/silver appliances etc. It cleans well and I believe provides good value for money. The quick wash cycle is excellent and very useful if you're short on time.

+ Easy to plumb in and so simple to use - no frills. Very understated machine and the best one for its money. Tip - rinse dishes before they go in dishwasher and then use rapid wash which only takes 30 mins to wash. Was worried about noise reviews but it is much quieter than my old Boshe.

+ Compact and easy to install. Very quiet when in operation. Really easy to operate as there are only four cycle options to select from and one button to push. All internal fittings such as salt dispenser and drain filter are easy to access for filling / cleaning.

The cleaning performance is good. The items are bone dry when they come out (if you leave inside for a little while after the wash).

Overall very happy with this product.

The layout of the place settings could be improved, but a minor moan.

+ It was a cheaper slimline dishwasher that came in silver.

- It does not have an indicator that salt/rinse aid is low and it is very 'clonky' the door is very stiff to open and close and sort of bangs back into place. I would say that it is the cheaper end of the dishwasher range and you can definately tell that.

- A little bit clunky - the top basket does not run smoothly on the runners and it doesn't look so good inside as the hotpoint I previously had - ie grey plastic instead of white and the element is exposed.

- Noisy, flimsily constructed. Cutlery tray is poorly designed and keeps falling over during washing. Not half as good as our old Bosch.

+ Economy wash is excellent dishes sparkling so much so I have never used a full cycle!

Machine was easy to plumb in ourselves, on replacing our old machine.

- Noisier than we had been led to believe - even comparing with previous size dishwasher which was about 5 years old and possibly not an 'A' rating.
The 'Start/reset' button is reluctant to work - I've learned to push it with more force! This may be a connection problem, if it starts to annoy/concern me more I'll make a call while within its guarantee.
The feet dug into & tore the lino floor when pushing the machine into place! Is this machine heavier than our previous slimline dishwasher or does it just have spiky feet?!

- The base of the unit is a flimsy cosmetic shield. I bought this applance for my disabled father and he hit the base plinth below the door with his wheelchair. It fell off instantly. The cosmetic base plinth is not very secure and has very weak clasps. Althought it will not affect the workings of the appliance, any kind of bump, even with a mop could break it. So therefore I would not not recommend this appliance to my family/friends.

+ The dishes come out really clean, which is the most important thing to me.

- It's not really a big deal but, although there is an express wash it would be better if the regular wash was a little quicker.

+ So versitile. Easily takes 2 sittings for my family of four.

+ Great to be able to rinse dishes quickly on 12 min rinse inbetween full loads. Looks great and slots in neatly being a slimline. Much quieter than i had expected .. Washes better than my mother's other brand very expensive integrated model in her kitchen. Great value for money.

+ Excellent cleaning. Plenty of room for large items such as big plates, large saucepans and casserole dishes on the bottom tray when top tray is in the high position. Has a very handy short programme for a small amount. There is no smearing. Excellent value for money.

+ Very versatile can fit a lot of things in with verious combinations of arranging the pots. Not had any problem keeping the door open whilst loading which was mentioned in a lot of the reviews i read before purchasing it.

+ Neat and compact little machine which does the job with minimal fuss. I would highly recommend this machine.

- No problems to date but as a slimline I wouldn't recommend to family as more suited to singles and couples. Not the quietest of machines but certainly no louder than a washing machine. Drying cycle sometimes requires glasses and cups to be wiped down but if that is my only gripe and if I don't have to wash up ever again then I am more than happy!

+ Compact and unobtrusive, quiet and efficient, with a good capacity for the size if you pack things in cleverly. This is an exellent dishwasher, I live mainly alone but cook a lot and I only need to use it about three times a week.

- It is a slightly greyer white than my other white goods and the electric cable and plug are black so if you need to plug it in above your worktops like me it offends your eye!! I'll have to change that.

- great big sticker from indesit which has taken me weeks to remove from the front of the appliance. please stick stickers on the side or back, it was very annoying.

+ as its slimline it fits in nicely in our kitchen,and is easy to load up. particularly like the option to stop the cycle to load up extra dishes. very useful.
