Pure Digital PocketDAB 1500 Reviews: DAB and FM

+ The reception is much better than my older model and the battery lasts a hell of a lot longer. Also it is lighter and retunes itself.

- switchs off on its own occasionally even with lock engaged but not to much of a problem

+ As a cricket nut being able to listen to TMS in the car, at the gym, in the garden, just about anywhere is fantastic. Light, very portable, compatable with my car sound system, everything I was looking for and the sound quality is good too.

- Being light, it does need to be kept in a pouch to avoid getting dented (although to be fair it has happened to me yet)

+ Very good reception, easy enough to slip into a pocket. Good headphones. I bought it for my husband and he is absolutely delighted with it, as he listens to the radio a lot. Unlike a lot of the earlier DAB models, there is none of the ear-splitting cut-out which is a huge advantage. You can also plug it in to ipod speakers and it will play as a radio.

- I found the navigation cumbersome and irritating, although I have to say my husband doesn't find this. It's also quite big and heavy - it would be a little bulky to take out on a run. Personally speaking, I prefer to download podcasts (eg Johnathon Ross' Radio 2 show) onto my ipod nano (far far smaller) and listen to radio that way. But like I said my husband is delighted.

- Difficult to see the display in full daylight, needs to be a little smaller and need a carrier / holder

+ The reception is good even when I am on my bike, Now I've got the hang of changing station it is easy to do and the display is clear even though I usually need reading glasses.

- I would like a choice of colour and the toggle bit in the middle is quite difficult to use until one gets used to it.

- DAB reception can be very variable depending on location . The radio is very bulky compared to a good quality FM/AM radio which seems to have a more robust signal .
