- Lack of illumination of the "Home/Back/Phone" keys at the bottom extremely annoying. The screen bklanks out on connecting during a call until one presses one of the nudgy buttons ie power or volume.

-Quite slim.
-TouchFlo 3D interface is pleasing to the eye and fairly responsive.
-Displays text messages with each contact like an msn conversation, very handy.
-Lots of third party software that is free can be put on

- -Windows mobile takes a lot of getting used to, if you're a regular mobile phone user and this is going to be your first Windows mobile, you might struggle to begin with.
-Camera isn't the best - no flash, indoor pics tend to be orangey.
-Can't set wifi as a preferred connection, mine always defaults to data/3g connection. Sorted with a free 3rd party download - should be standard though.
-Bluetoothing is an effort, not in main options for pics etc.
Touchscreen is good but still not as good as responsive as say, iPhone.

+ Sleek design with a fantastic hi-res screen, great for web browsing and watching videos. 5Mpixel camera takes great photos. Good web browser. Micro SD slot, so as larger capacity cards become available storage can be upgraded. Loads of RAM, so running out of it has never been an issue. Snappy processor, never felt sluggish. Can be used as a 3G modem for your computer. Stereo Bluetooth headset support. Loads of free and paid for apps that aren't all vetted by one company out to maximise profits.

- No flash on the camera - enough to rule out the phone for some. Windows Mobile OS always feels a little dated, although the HTC finger-friendly presentation layer mostly negates that. Had to download and apply OS patches before the answer-the-phone slider worked properly. No navigation cursor buttons so you can't play most Windows Mobile games.

+ the phone is excellent

- the size and the screen is not carpenter friendly. the number keys disappear after call started so when you need to press numbers for menu options have to try and get keys back up.

*PICTURES viewed are AWESOME QUALITY becoz of the HIGH RESOLUTION SCREEN...
*Absolutely BRILLIANT for BROWSING INTERNET (large screen and hence forth you see more)....
*The STOCKS TAB is kinda COOL and HELPFUL for those who want to keep track of the economy in these "not-so-good" times.....
*WEATHER TAB is also a great feature and mostly ACCURATE....

- *NO FLASH for a 5MP camera...
*Automatically connectsto 3G(GPRS)
*Video playback is not very good - meaning- the video keeps lagging wen its played on you tube and the videos stored on the fone...
*System hangs sometimes, requiring you to restart the device.
*battery life is not very great either...if used for watching videos it wont even last a day.....

+ Has everything built in, GPS, 3G, HSPDA, Bluetooth, IR, WiFi, 5 mega pixel camera, G-sensors as well as an 800 pixel screen! This phone can do almost anything, however browsing the web is amazing - full page websites, rendered just like on a pc so no more scrolling around to see the whole page!

- As this is a new phone, some software 3rd party software will not run as it does not support the amazing 800 pixel screen. However over the coming months more and more software will support this amazing resolution.

+ Good camera big screen

- To complicated, touch screen not soft touch, to much stuf on there battery doesnt last lnog when being used.

+ High resolution display, great flexibility with Windows Mobile Camera, good quality 5 Megapixel Camera, standard headphone socket on the top of the phone

- Can be slow at times, no flash on the camera

+ Takes great photo's, easy to use, easy to text, just a all round great phone!

- Could be lighter and thinner.

+ Touch screen, better range of software available than the iPhone, good sound quality, video call camera, excellent web browser, auto WiFi connection switching, universal USB connection.

- very sensitive volume control (which will change the ring volume by default, and set it to silent in your pocket), no screen locking software as standard, high power consumption, no accessories available in the UK yet (bought 3 docking stations from Hong Kong).

- Poor touch software, difficult to answer phone due to bad design of slider button. Phone screen blanks as soon as you make call, so difficult to check voice mail. Finger cross slider on home page impossible to use, opens whatever application you touch instead of sliding to choice. re-sett button (frequently needed) hidden inside phone so back has to be removed to use.

+ super extra toy ;-) I'm using HTC for work and privat. Work: outlook, satnav, calendar!! it remeber my appoitments and display them on the screen!! you can check you emials where ever you are!!

- size- too big a little bit for me and sometimes you press something what you didn't mean to press!!

+ Large screen and high resolution means you can view full web pages easily, even with ageing eyesite! HTC's touch flo interface is a joy including cool weather symbols and great showing off to friends. Very good results from camera and easy to transfer results to PC or LCD TV. Get the right data package and you can auto receive email all day long without costing a lot. Wifi pick-up is very fast even with weak signals and holds on well.

- Slideshow goes wrong way, but not too much of a problem. Changing from portrait to landscape and vice versa sometimes not reactive enough.

+ very easie to use, very stylish, the picture quitly is amazing, the 3.5mm jak and the mini usb is brilliant, the acelorometor works like a dream, going on the internet is as easie as can be

- the phone is to easie to crack the screen as i have done so from just having it in my jacket pocket on the way home from work,
there arnt many applications or games out compatable with the phone

- On software support for TomTom and can not find an alternative Sat Nav software that is not tied to the Micro SD card that it comes on meaning I would have to keep changing cards

- Needs a better key lock, it very easy to make call without knowing.
Battery time could be better.

+ It has a nice big clear screen, its compatible with most software out there, battery life is very good as well.

- The sound is slightly tinny and is also not loud enough without headphones. Cannot use the equaliser unless the headphones are attached. Can be a bit sluggish at times.

+ Lots of great software available and the user development scene is thriving with ideas and custom ROMS (which make the vanilla HD faster).

- Camera software doesn't make good use of the camera. Ok in good light out doors, poor indoors unless you prop it up on a surface and happen to be snapping something that doesn't move.

+ I love the phone. The touch screen, once you adjust to using it, works extremely well. All the applications are great. It really is a laptop for your pocket.

- I haven't found any bad points yet.. if anything, I would say the battery life isn't the greatest. And the charger could be more secure. The plug has a usb connection and that can be loose so the phone may not charge when you think it should have, but a simple check and push of the usb sort the problem.. honestly thats as bad as a review that I can muster..

- Unfortunately, the HTC camera is not as good as m previous 5MP phone, it is without a flash and sometimes when texting, the screen doesn't pick up what I am doing. Also the battery runs down pretty fast.

+ Compatible with all software. Perfect for watching movies, read doc with acrobat reader, also very good when we use Skype! The GPS is brillant. Basically I will change it only for the new version of The HTC TOUCH HD withe the keyboard!!!!

- - windows mobile has a tendency to freeze or crash, particularly when you let your messages get very full and if your list of recent calls is large, however after clearing these it seems to run perfectly - can be a bit confusing if you don't know a great deal about technology

- touch was too sensitive, no real lock - phone randomly does stuff, case has a horrible feel, camera quality poor for a 5 mp camera, no flash.

+ Amazing screen. The touchflow software is very good. The camera in fantastic.
Active synch to exchange server is perfect.

- Clunky locking. Locks when not appropriate. Phone does not take advantage of the light sensor. Don't know why?

+ Generally all the Smart phone features work really well. The ability to use WI-FI (either to save on using data allowance, or when unable to get a data signal) is very useful and it is quick and easy to switch between. Personally I find the presence of Office Mobile to be really useful and the phone has become my main place for scribbling notes.

- Actual use as a phone can be a bit awkward. The slide to answer feature takes some getting used to and can cause calls to accidentally be rejected. The lack of a proximity sensor means you can accidentally hang up with your face or, once the screen has locked, have trouble activating the keypad in time if the number you are calling utilises an automated PBX.

- Not very user friendly and NOT a substitute for the iPhone. Manual does not always correlate to the functioning of the phone.
If you're not very IT literate, it's very difficult to use - more of a PDA than a phone.

+ A phone that does everything that you want it to do, from surfing the internet which is a joy with this phone to emailing and writing documents. Watching movies is a great experience with the size and clarity of the phone screen. The phone is an joy, and would recommend it to anybody.

- The only downside with this handset is the camera, which even though it is 5megapixels the pictures are quite dull and lack vibrancy, but to be honest you do not really buy this handset for the camera.

- no camera flash, button on the top (power / lock / unlock) is easily presed in your pocket, and next thing you know is the phone starts calling people from your call list

+ I find the Menu's easy tyo sue and I like the design and layout of the phone.

- Don't like the the answer option when a call is received. It's not reliable.

+ Good functions but nothing special compared to market rivals.

- Much harder to use and also not as well designed interface as say the iPhone.

My big concern before buying was touch sensitiveness of the screen but after buying it i am completly amzed at how sensitive and smooth the screen is both whil using with fingers or stylus.
Definately value for money and completly worth the price
The best mobile phone i ever had and to be honest the best one in the market.
Do not do mistakes and regret later on other phones as i nearly did myself
But thanks to some peoples help i buyed this at the first. A MUST BUY

- only thing i would say is the camera while taking photos its bit slow but after you capture photo picture are amazing. Lack of flash do not bothered me as i never used flash in my phones and the light in the camera is brilliant even in the dark. this is all i can think for bad points

- hangs a lot. not responsive enough. keyboard is a nightmare

- can freeze/ lag, but all phones like this do, this does not really effect the use of the phone, recomend the hot fixes form htc website, resolves most issues.

+ has everything i could possibly need for both business and social purposes, always finding new things on it! have had it for just over a month now and still absolutely love it!!

- took me longer than usual to get used to this phone, however i think that is because it has so many programmes and so many different things you need to learn a bit about!

- no flash on the camera and as far i can see no night vision mode on the camera.

+ HTC HD revolution to match the i phone is good. There are no matching phones by nokia/sony/samsund. I think it has more functions/use when compared to iphone. Especially the window based software allows many other installations with the advantage of Office tools which will suit many business personnell. The mail checking features are excellent and you can link your contact list in your hotmail to outlook on the phone.All mails like gmail, hotmail, yahoomaill etc can be checked and displayed as a pda message rather than web page. Writing messages or mails are very easy and quick if you are used to the letter recognizer. The SMS feature is excellent where all the SMS to and fro to that person remains on the same page and some times it is easy to cut and paste many repeat information. Cut and paste tool is very usefull. Sorry no experience with iphone to compare.

- Battery last 1-2 days depending on the use. I check the mails once or twice a day and it last for 2-3 days. I have no comparision to other internet based phones. But you can charge this device by a USB through any computer or a AA Battery operated chargers are also available.I think the buttons on the bottom of the screen to receive the call should have a colour or background light. Very complex phone for an computer illiterate.
