Score 9.0/10+ Amazing device! I can do everything that I can do on my desktop computer using this phone - only I can do it while on the bus or train. Fantastic technology. Instantly receive emails, too. I'm actually writing this review on it! The tiny keyboard didn't look very practical, but after a day or two of use it is very easy to write quickly using it. VAST range of applications available for it.
- Unfortunately using all of these features runs down the battery quickly. The battery will last two days at most, but I usually have to charge it every night. The camera can blur easily, but that is quite normal for phone cameras.

Score 8.0/10+ The design is great, the qwerty keyboard brilliant and the andriod market great.
- The camera is so bad I would be better off sketching the pictures I was taking with my son's crayons. And there is no computer sync or option to use the phone as a modem. I used to have a N95 - best phone ever released for its time, this is what I am comparing to.

Score 8.0/10+ This phone and Android are a joy to use. The whole system is easy to use, with tons of software availble. The fact that everything synchronises with you Google services in the backgroud make the act of "syncing" a thing of the past. Excellent phone all round.
- Biggest gripe is battery life, although that may be due to the tons of features making it hard to stop using. Also, the inability to select UK phone numbers in the brower is a pain. Hopefully the next update with fix that.

The operating system (OS) is the best thing on the phone. It looks good aswell but definetly not a style icon.
The best think about the phone hardware is the connectivity features and the build in GPS. The best think about the OS is the many applications you can download like the Iphone but better!!!
- batteery life is very very poor, one day if you do not play with it to much. Camera does not have a flash although for me this is not a problem.

- bit basic out of the box as far as games, apps and options but free apps and games from the market see to great shortcut menus for turning things on and off like bluetooth and wifi, loads of cool and random apps to play with

Score 8.0/10+ The phone itself is great, for texting, internet and phonecalls. The G1 is rather large but its still small compared to similiar products.
- The Battery life is a disgrace. I understand that it is like a small laptop but you need to charge it everyday. regardless of use. I would honestly hate to be a businessman who was always on their mobile, they would need to carry around a spare battery and a charger.

Score 9.0/10+ The availability of a wide range of software that utilises all the G1 features such as GPS, internet andshopping. The screen sensitivity and response is firtst class. Another good thing about the phone is the availability of a high capacity battery.

I pretty much run my life using the full range of Google applications and
the 'G-Phone integrates seamlessly with my calendar, mail and contacts. I don't have to even
think about syncronisatrion. There is an enormous app store with a vast range of vree software
that will pack your phone with all manner of fun and useful stuff.
-
Battery life is bad. It does charge from a standard USB so if you spend time on a computer it can be charging.
Download an app like 'Useful Switchers' that lets you instantly turn features on and off. If you only use
bluetooth, GPS and WiFi when you need it then you will get more hours out of a charge.

The G1 is very easy to set up. It's even easier if you have a Google mail account. I was also able to sync my contacts from my old Nokia N95 to google, which then synced them to my new G!...Fantastic!!!
I also like the incredible number of applications there are available on the Android Market. They're easy to download and install too!
- The battery life is poor, unless you are just leaving the phone on standby all the time. There isn't an in-built task list/manager with reminders (but then there isn't really within Googlemail either). Score 7.0/10+ Good business apps - gMail, calendar, contacts. Good connectivity. The new on-screen keyboard (with update to 1.5) is good. Open source! Google maps are good too.
-
Very, very poor battery life. Less than one day when barely used!
Some interface gestures not intuitive.
No keyboard navigation, the roller ball is not accurate.
The touch screen seems to be calibrated for right handers, I frequently miss stuff using it left handed.

Score 7.0/10+ Android is a good OS and the phone has just about every gizmo you could want.
- Touch screen is not as sensitive as the iPhone, the build quality is OK but not great and the WIFI reception is really bad (no signal when other devices work fine)

Score 8.0/10+ I think the G1 is a great phone, has fun applications, web anywhere and the web is pretty quick too. The ability to connect to wi-fi hotspots is an added bonus as it speeds up the web experience. The roller ball is great as you can quickly skip to a piece of text if you've spelt something wrong and it also helps you navigate web pages easier if you have big fingers and links are close together. I find the qwerty keyboard to be a bonus as I find it easier to type with. The phone charges quickly which is good. (As battey life isn't brilliant)
- .I think the life of the battery is way too short. The phone is constantly connected to 3g network syncing with your e-mail which drains the battery, as I'm always checking and receiving e-mails chatting on google talk I sometimes find I'm charging the phone twice a day. (I know this is about the black g1 but I have used a friends white g1 and find it hard to type on the qwerty when the back light comes on as the letters on the keys seem to disappear.) The only other bad point I can think of which is probably the case with most smart phones is the fact it doesn't support flash websites but it think this is in development. Just remember it doesn't yet support bluetooth file sharing but I also believe this is under development too.
