+ I used to have a separate scanner and printer however it was time to update. This is value for money and does as much as I need.

- The only down side is that it prints the last page first which on many documents is a waste of paper. To get around this I go to the print preview and select the page(s) required. Maybe it could be reset but I'm not a tecky!

- quite slow to print and ink does not last long

+ This printer/coppier prints beautiful photos with clear colour. I found it very easy to set up by following the enclosed cd of instructions. It copies both written and printed material without any problems. I would reccomend it to anyone for home and family use, or a small offfice.

- Makes some noises when first switched on. Would be easier to turn on and off if the switch were more prominent rather than being a touch button. I have problems with my hands so if this function were easier to operate, it would be really helpful.

- Scans are saved as jpg's. No option to save as text so scan size is rather large. Ink cartridges only last 5 minutes - would prefer to buy a more expensive printer whose cartridges last longer. It alsohas a tendency to 'lock out' and won't perform until it is switched off and then back on again.

+ Quiet and easy to set up. I had severe problems with my HP 2757 Photosmart with paper jams. I bought this as a replacement and it is very good, the photographs are excellent anf no paper jams !

+ Setting up to use with a computer running on Windows XP and Vista Home Premium was very easy.
Scanning with either the Windows software or the HP software is simple.

+ its modern,sleek looks nice in my home office and would in any office easy to use,economical buying cartridges are cheaper than most printers. simple a child could use it! and useful with or without computer. added bonus was when on computer it has different ways to do things but explained in layman terms brilliant for all family from novice to expert it does what you want and on screen instructions to help without baffling you.

photos are of good quality on normal factory setting - very good reproduction.
My 3 in 1 lexmark 75 was very poor on ink cartridge useage - the indicator showed plenty of ink left but failed to print.
This HP shows empty and still continues to print until the very last drop.

- Minor grumble - view window for print section etc would nicer if it faced the user and was larger, for my poor old eyes..

- You have to buy a USB cable. Apparently this is true for all printers, but it's annoying when you've bought the printer and then have to go out again to get the cable. Why don't they come with the printer because you can't print without it.

+ Inkjet printers have improved greatly over the past few years. Having used a Laser Printer almost exclusively since 2002, I was amazed to discover that this printer printed B&W text faster than my old laser printer. The quality of the print is as good too, though it seems to be gulping through the ink that it came with. I am hoping these cartridges are simply small starter cartridges - if not then it's going to prove very expensive in ink. Only time will tell. The photocopy facility is very good and the quality is remarkable for such a low-priced item. The scanner's ok, but surprisingly not as good quality as the photocopier though that may be that I'm not using it properly yet. It's certainly easy to use - the buttons are easy to understand and the instructions easy to read on the small screen. Haven't tried yet to print photos directly from a card but photos printed from the computer are as good as any I've had back from digital printing companies.

- I really cannot fault this printer. Every time I try something new it amazes me. I like it very much. I hope it proves durable as it doubles up as a small office printer.

+ This is obviously a quality built product. The front loading paper delivery is vastly superior to previous printers I have purchased that are loaded from the top where the plastic board to hold the paper in place has snapped. The speed of printing is good and reliable and smooth. I higly recommend this printer.

- The cartridge is too expensive although it's not to do with this model. Don’t know if there's other type of cartridge can be used instead of HP 351/350 as we have other model of HP printers as well. They all use different type of cartridges.

+ Absolutely superb little machine, more than excellant for what I want, with photo paper 10x8 A4 are superb. You would have to go a long way to better this at a proice that was even worth looking at.

- Like all modern printers it eats ink like its going out of fashion, don't invest in Gold, buy shares in a ink refill company !!!

- I have now purchaed two of these C4480 printers but they sometimes pull in more than one sheet of paper when feeding in doesnt always happen??
