Hotpoint WF541 reviews: Front Loading loading, 6kg capacity washing machine

+ good load size & good quick wash cycle.

- quite loud for a new machine.

+ Lights indicating point in cycle can be checked from a distance. Also lets you know if the door's not properly closed.

- No wheels, so difficult to push under worktop.

+ easly to use and don't need to read the instruction book to work out how to do a range of programmes

- extremely noisy, whole flat vibrates when it's on spin cycle

+ It has a wide range of programs, including delicate and wool washes. I have a lot of clothes that need a delicate cycle, so this is helpful. It's also good to be able to set the temperature separately as I tend to wash most things at 30 degrees. The machine washes really well, and the wash enhance function gets dirty things really clean. Last but not least it looks stylish!

- Nothing I can think of. Some of the programs are a bit long, but I can always use the quick wash.

- Cycle time vary tremendously from published ones. Special features do not work at all even though boook says they do. ie less water going in for small/economy eash. - just flashes and goes out. No free 5 year parts guarantee card was sent even though I registered imediately.

+ A good machine, has a large variety of cycles and a spin only which I was looking for. Very quiet and efficient at cleaning clothes.

- It doesn't have a display screen however if you paid more money you can get this on a better model.

+ Maximum load facility plus half loads. Good user manual which recommends which washing liquid, tablets etc to use for each cycle.

- Bit noisy and some cycles are 2 hours plus. But overall a good buy.

I've always bought hotpoint and as always this one continues to raise the standards of hotpiont and would highly reccommend it!

- The only thing i not fussed about is that once the cycle is set you can only monitor it by the lights on the tiop rather than physically seeing the dail move as the cycle progresses

+ large door and load capacity. Hand wash cycle for wool items and other delicates. High spin speed. Large capacity.

- can be noisy on spin. Some wash cycles are long.

+ It is OK for the price

- Too many features, all added as "selling points"; get real its only a washing machine! You need a temperature control for hot/medium/cold and an on/off switch. You don't get any extra quality of bearing for a higher spin sped over a lower rated one; 1400 rpm just wears out quicker than 1000 rpm! With luck and lack of use (because I'm male of the species) it may last 10 years!

- A little on the noisy side on the fastest spin but apart from that there are no other bad points.

+ Looks good - quick wash really is quick - good spin dry performance - wide opening loading door. You can adjust the spin speed and so make for a quieter final spin if using the machine late at night. Good value for money.

- The motor was noisey the first few washes and then got quieter after more use.

+ Spin is fantastic, some clothes are iron dry when they come out. The quick wash at 30 minutes, the variable temperature and spin speed controls are excellent.

- The 800 spin speed on the quick wash, it would be better if the spin on the quick wash was the maximum as you can always reduce this if needed but if you need clothes in a hurry 800 leaves the clothes needing longer in the drier. That is the only bad point I can find on this machine and that would not be a problem if I wasn't a "leave it to the last minute" kind of person

+ I have found the wash cycles quick and really clean washing . Its a back to basics washing machine and so far its fab. Have spent money on a more fancy washer in past but this one is such good value for money

- None really. The only thing I think it is missing is a timer to let you know the progress of the wash, and the remaining minutes until it finishes.

+ THE MACHINE SPINS THE WASHING DRY AND QUIETLY WHICH MEANS IT ALSO SPINS THE DIRT OUT DURING THE CYCLE. IT ALSO USES MOSTLY COLD WATER SO IT IS COST EFFECTIVE.

- THE CYCLES ARE REALLY LONG. I GENERALLY USE ONE PROGRAMME FOR THE MAJORITY OF MY LAUNDRY.

- Short cycle still takes 1 hour - my old machine took 40 mins

+ It has some good features which are time saving and the overall look of the machine is quite nice.

- Since I bought the machine in November 07 I have had to call the engineer out twice. This was because of very noisy final spin. When he came the first time he had to tighten the bolts on the front weight. I am waiting for him to arrive the second time as this problem as reoccurred. I am not happy to say the least.

- Very dissapointed with the machine cannot use powder in the machine because this does not disolve even liquid takes it time to disperse. I hate the fact that it is only cold fill and the lack of water in the machine. The clothes do not get clean and have had to wash again, I have always bought hotpoints but will never again i hate the thing. Wish i could get rid of it
