Hotpoint RFA52 Reviews: Tall, White fridge freezer

+ its small and compact good to have 4 drawers in the freezer

- the shelves are not deep enogh to lay pop bottles on and the door shelves do not adjust in hieght to allow for some items

+ motor very quiet except for the odd strange noises, good freezer capacity compared to other makes as I was restriced in my choice due to space. Over a very nice looking and good quality fridge freezer

- Could do with fast freeze switch being in a different place and also have an indicactor light, mine got knocked on and was on for a week, I had to ring your help line to ask why the thing was make so much cracking noises even they couldnt help and I was just about to get it returned before I discovered what the problem was.
Ice cube container good ideal but doesn't really work, ice cubes very small and difficult to get out as container is made of a very non pliable plastic, if you melt them down a bit to get them out they are then even smaller also the fill line is only just visible in one container and not at all visable in the other even with a bright light behind.

+ Quiet and plenty of capacity

- The freezer door is sometimes difficult to open due to the suction on. But don't have same problem with fridge. Also sometimes need to take freezer drawers completley out of the freezer to take items out/in it as not enough room.

+ I like the size and the fact it fits 2l bottles in the side. There is only two of us so we can fit everything in nicely.

Outer casing of fridge freezer bit flimsy ours came with couple of dents!

- Leveling points are at the back of the unit which is pointless if you need to put it in a confined area and you cannot get to the back of the unit.

- Badly made. Defects from manufacture. Unsightly seems on cabinet. Changing door opening side requires to drill holes not provided. No caps to blank off old door holes. Shelves in door cant be moved up or down to fit bottles. Freezer drawers too shallow to take SFC chicken box. Ice cube tubes dont work - cant remove cubes. The levelling foot on mine wouldnt screw in - freezer had to be taken back by Hotpoint. Thank god its a very poor model.

+ Easy to use and has some good design features such as the integrated ice cube containers. It is compact in overall size but offers plenty of internal storage space for a small family.

- Took a couple of days to settle down and was a bit noisy at first. It has no bottle rack and the doors are a bit stiff to open, though this does mean that they are tightly closed, keeping the food chilled at all times.

+ keeping the height to under 1750mm

- The freezer section is too small.I would have liked the freezer to be the size of the fridge and the fridge to be the size fo the freezer.

+ PLEASED WITH THE PRODUCT, NICE LINES IN DESIGN. QUITE, EASY TO UNDERSTAND INSTRUCTIONS.

- WISHED I HAD BOUGHT THE LARGER SIZE. NOT AS LARGE AS MY LAST PURCHASE.

+ Slimline, good sized freezer compartment, good build quality.

- Shallow fridge compartment, not deep enough to cope with 2l bottles (although the shelf on the door is big enough for them)

- Very dirty with greasy black staining under the polythene.
Coolant is very noisy, burbly, sounding like a half filled central heating boiler.

+ Its the perfect size for a 2-person house. The fridge-freezer is NOT loud as others have said. Size is good, the shelves on the fridge door dont move but thats not a problem, and it actually means you can put in a bottle of coke or something.

+ Fridge is bog standard and doesn't have any gizmo's or gadgets to go wrong! It has a fantastic capacity while not taking up very much space. It is very good value for money.

+ Just the perfect size. I t is very quiet and people have commented on how quiet it is. Keeps things very fresh for longer and the temp is only on 2. Very impressed over all and briliant price.

+ The fridge is a good size can fit lots of food in it. The overall size of the product is great as entrance to my property is quite narrow so alot of fridgefreezers are too wide, but this went in no problem, and because of the height you still have lots of room inside.

- the only bad point i can think of is because the freezer has drawers in it and not shelves to put the food on, you can't fit quite so much food in. But overall i'm very happy with it.

+ Good sturdy adjustable shelves. Two salad boxes. Roomy doors allowing storage of large drinks bottles and 4 pint bottles of milk.

- Freezer drawers take a little getting used to as you need to tip them to get access food at the back of the drawer. This does stop the drawer falling out though.

+ easy to clean glass shelves, instead of grills where things fall over or dont stand up properly. like the ice cube feature in the drawer fronts doesnt take up room

- freezer drawers are bit small. my old one had 3 which made them seem bigger.although i did measure the cubic ft of my old one and this one and they were the same.

+ It was exactly as I expected it to be after reading the description on the web site and I consider that to be a good point since I wasn't mislead about the item I was buying.

- If I had a choice between durable plastic shelves and the glass ones in the fridge I would choose plastic, only because if knocked over, glass bottles/jars on glass shelves sound as if one or the other might smash. Thinking about it of course, the solution is to store glass items on a spongetex type material to prevent slipping and cushion knocks. I'll try it.

I was used to a chest freezer so find the freezer a bit small, a loaf of bread almost fills a drawer. My Mum has a similar fridge freezer but with flaps instead of draws and I prefer the draws as you can take them out to sort through.
Delivery was exceptional. An email was sent with 4 hr time slot and the phone call to say it was on the way was much appreciated.

- Ice boxes are difficult to get the ice out of, would have been better if more flexible.

+ A good all round 50/50 fridge freezer. Under shelf freezing, solid state fridge stat, like the ice cube system in the freezer draw fronts. The no fuss level adjustments on the feet.
For the price a very good product, better than our failed Hoover frost free unit died after 5 years.

- The R600 gase makes a little noise but thats just the gas in todays fridges. Its not a probblem as such sounds like water running through a pipe and it is not a loud sound.

- I have heard of people who have broken plastic freezer drawers while trying to pull them out, but I have not had that experience so far.
