Hotpoint WML540 reviews: Front Loading loading, 6kg capacity washing machine

+ Was easy (for my dad..lol...) to install. It is very simple to use and very quiet. Mine is on a ceramic tile floor and I can't hear a thing when its spinning, even when Im stood next to it.

- The front base 'trim' comes off very easily if knocked by accident, even if by foot very lightly.

+ The machine is very nice to look at, is solid and has a good amount of wash programmes. The washing comes out clean and fresh. A great machine am very pleased with it would definately recommend it.

- Cant really think of any maybe the wash times are slightly longer than on previous machines i've owned but overall not really a problem.

+ Looks good, very easy to use, price was right. Big drum means no need to use so often.

- Long cycle times and bit noisy on spin. Only 1400 spin but you get that in this price range. Only one short cycle 30 mins, that is a cold wash with a 800 spin. All other cycles 51-122 mins

+ Lots of space for large pile of washing, very good wash and spins almost dry! Best machine we have owned by a long way! Highly recommended to anybody thinking of buying one!!

+ does seem to get through the cycles much more quickly that previous machines i've owned. good choice of speeds and fair choice of washing temperatures from 30 degrees or cold - can mix and match temperatures and spin speeds with some of the washing programmes. washings items very well. overall I am very happy with this machine so far.

To be honest there were so many machines to choose from that I asked my friend about her new washing machine which happened to be a Hotpoint. As she was happy with hers I chose the closest match.
I did think it was very cheap in comparison to previous machines that I had bought. However, they BOTH (two in 30 years) lasted well so time will tell.

- It can be a bit noisy but is in the utility room so doesn't really bother us.
So many programmes that I haven't worked through them all yet and decided which are the best ones for me.

+ the washing machine is very easy to use and has very simple to understand controls it also looks very attractive the other redeming feature is the spin speed the washing comes out alsmost dry.it is also very economical on electricity which is an impotant factor in the present finacial climate.

+ I didn't want a cold water fill washing machine, but it is GREAT!
I can't believe how quiet the machine is - you don't even know it is running!

+ IT NOW , ONLY HAS A COLD WATER CONNECTION INSTEAD OF HOT AND COLD. WE HAVE HAD HOTPOINT WASHING MACHINES FOR THE PAST 50 YEARS AND WE SEE NO REASON TO CHANGE

- ONE OF THE EARLIER MODELS WE HAD LASTED OVER 20 TEARS, THE LAST ONE ONLY LASTED 8 YEARS

+ The machine was bought for my mother, so the 'push' button controls were a big factor. A good range of washing programmes, wide door opening and powder / liquid dispenser are all an added bonus.

- Programmes seem slower than her old machine - probably because of the 'cold fill only'.

+ Doesn't walk round the kitchen when on a fast spin!!

+ Machine has been reliable and quality of wash is fine. There are plenty of wash cycles to choose from and the facility to manually adjust temperature and spin speed is good.

- I find putting the fabric softener in the dispenser drawer quite difficult, the hole is smaller than my previous model and with it being on an angle, it can sometines be difficult to fill it without a small spillage.

- Machine has solid feet and no wheels which makes it difficult to move into position.

+ Being able to personalise temperature & spin cycle to suit. The mini load is also very helpful for small bacthes of washing.

+ Very good "basic" washing machine. Bought as a replacement for a similar one that had lasted for years, so didn't want one that had lcd displays or the like. Had it plumbed in and on the go in an hour.

+ A considerable improvement on the washing machine I had had. Once I have mastered the programmes, I have found having the ability to choose spin speeds and wash temperature invaluable.

- Found the booklet a bit off putting at first, but once I had used the programmes a couple of times it made perfect sense!
