+ very sturdy, especially compared to the alternatives on the market. fits flush to the wall and the drawer is a god-send for storing spare oven trays. The glass door makes checking on the progress of a dish easy without letting in cold air. The grill is a good size and easy to clean.

- The controls. Whichever idiot decided to make the marks for setting of the oven temperature so close together and to leave out 6 [ a much used number] obviously does no cooking. It is pure guess work, the space between the high settings is so small. I am struggling to get used to it and burn stuff or find it takes ages to cook.!

Conventional ovens heat from the bottom so the top of the oven will be slightly hotter than the bottom. This is useful when you’re cooking lots of different dishes at a time. However, they do take a little longer than fan ovens to heat up. Fan ovens circulate the air so that you get an even temperature throughout the oven. They are quicker to heat up which means they save on energy and time. Multifunction ovens give you the flexibility to use different methods of cooking. Self-cleaning ovens can come with catalytic liners or pyrolytic programmes. Calalytic liners are the bumpy surfaces which line the inside walls of the oven. Pyrolytic programmes run for a couple of hours and burn off all the grime in your oven at temperatures up to 500°C. As it gets so hot, the oven door usually locks so that all you need to do is sweep up the ash that’s left over at the end.
