Hotpoint FFA52 Reviews: Frost Free, Freestanding, Multi fridge freezer

+ Ideal for a small kitchen

+ The fridge freezer is spacious and looks good.

- I was unable to change the doors to open the other way which makes it difficult to use. The spacer was impossible
to take out in order to change sides. This makes using the fridge and freezer akward to use as it's against a wall in a narrow corner.
I also wish more shelf options were possible.

+ ITS THE RIGHT SIZE FOR MY GAP, NNEDED TO BE LESS THAN 55CM AND THERE ARE NOT MANY FRIDGE FREEZER THAT SIZE OUT THERE

+ Fits in the space I have got and has reasonable capacity for a couple in both fridge and freezer

- The top draw of the freezer is very shallow and the ice cube holders do not work that well although they are theoretically well located

+ Right size for the space in our kitchen. Food keeps very well and cold. Matches in well with our colour scheme and other appliances. Quite quiet an improvement on our previous Hotpoint model.

- When intalling I found that the feet did not make it easy to slide into position, due to only plastic tube feet, should have had ajustable flat feet.

- Levelling adjustment on base is very limited and difficult to work

+ It's just a great fridge freezer. If it is the size colour etc that you want don't hold back.

- Only the one leveling foot at front. Could lead to problems on uneven floors.

- being frost free freezer you would think that you wouldnt have to defrost the thing but we've only had it for a few months now and we've had to defrost it twice in that time! the hole at the back seems to get blocked with ice for no reason at all which makes the freezer not operate properly and be warmer than it should! and then a few weeks ago it was making a noise like a motorbike and im not even exaggerating but that seems to have stopped now - i dont think there has been a solid month where its been working normally!!

- Door space badly designed - large bottle tray at bottom of door is wasted space. Not everyone wants to store large bottles of milk or wine. A removable middle tray for jars etc would make good sense at very little extra cost. This could be removed if you wanted to store large bottles. Door light doesn't come on until door fully open.

+ Clean design, easy to use, good quality shelving, useful fast freeze, don't need to defrost which is essential, not too large in overall size and fridge/freezer of similar internal size.

- Freezer door is too tight when closed...have to open a gap in the seal with fingers to get the door to open, could do with top freezer shelf being larger in depth.

- Although there are four freezer compartments the size of them could've been made bigger by just having three.

+ I think it is a good reasonable capacity. Overall it is a very good purchase.

+ There are 2 seperate salad boxes which is handy for keping products seperate. There are ice boxes as part of each drawer. The ice can be difficult to get out of these but it is a good space saver. If you are looking for a fridge/freezer that does as it says on the tin then you wont be disappointed.

+ this is a good sized family fridge freezer.it keeps all the contents cold.has the option of fast freezing.the colour is a nice graphite silver.i woul.d highly recommend this product without a doubt.

It would have been better to have three deep compartments rather than four shallow ones. - Our main problem was that the doors were very difficult to reverse, the holes weren't drilled in the casing to fit the hinges, the blanking plugs were missing and the hinge spacers had been assembled incorrectly.

- We have had a little trouble making sure the freezer door is properly closed. A couple of times it has been closed but has not been properly shut to causing items to defrost.

+ It was difficult to find a fridge/freezer that fitted in with our current kitchen's dimensions, at one point only an expensive integrated solution was possible until we learnt that the FFA52S was the ideal depth. Frost free is marvellous and saves on annual maintenance.

- Fan noise isn't too obtrusive but something we are getting used to!

+ Only positive is that this fridge is one of the few on the market that fits into a small space.

- The overall capacity of this fridge is poor, top freezer compartment slopes down making it difficult to store even the smallest of food items. The ice cube trays are useless as you cannot get the ice cubes out they just smash and actually hinder the use of the drawers, the fronts of the drawers also come off on occassions as you pull them out.

+ the storage amount is great in the fridge and freezer and I always have plenty of space inside. The fast freeze section in the freezer is fantastic.

- to change the side of the doors to open is a pain having to put the fridge on the floor!! and as it is a large item and is very heavy makes it very difficult to do!

+ Our old one broke down, this was like for like, fitted the space and was available quickly. Basically just an upgrade to a newer model. Like frost-free.

- THe capacity is much less than old one. Narrower, shallower. Ice trays are super-annoying.
