- Door is stiff to use and the upper tray mechanism is over engineered with plastic which will get brittle and break, the cutlery holder again is over engineered. we eventually got out our old cutlery basket and used that instead. its economical as it dosent totally dry the dishes like our old machine used to.

- My two year old can easily pull it open- it is a grteat dishwasher though.

- Dishes very hot at end of cycle, need to open door slighlty and leave to cool before emptying. Regarding installation, needed an extension pipe and guys wouldnt do it so had to get my own plumber

+ Really really quiet machine - no need at all to use the button to make it quieter. I like the way the cutlery basket divides into two, and the way you can change the baskets height/collapsable bits to suit your own needs. Despite a few very tiny negative points (the pause button and the cycle times) I'm still really glad I bought the machine, and would recommend it.

- The cycles seem a bit long, and I'm sure that sometimes the timer stops and takes far longer than what the display says - so you just really have to use the time remaining as a rough guide. Like some other reviews I've read I agree that it's really easy to pause the machine without realising - the button only needs to be pressed ever so slightly (i.e. by leaning on it) and the machine is paused.

- The graphite finish is totally different colour and texture to all the other hotpoint appliances in graphite like the washing machines and fridge freezers, which have like a linen finish, the dishwasher is shiny and does not match.

+ Very good alround, exellent at cleaning and drying, also very quite. Plenty of space inside and easy to load. Nice display that shows the cycle and how long is left to run.

- If I'm being picky the cycles seem long, but I think that is standard on all new dishwashers. Some form of button lock would be nice to prevent my 2 year old from pausing it all the time.

+ After 25 years with a Miele, I was worried about changing to another model especially having seen some others in use. However, I needn't have worried as this is an excellent machine, very quiet, easy to understand controls and you always know how long is left in the cycle. The adjustable top shelf is useful as are the moveable cutlery baskets and the collapsible plate dividers in the bottom shelf which make it easier to stack pots and pans.

+ The grey colour blends in nicely with our kitchen, its stacking is versatile & the m/c itself performs well.

- The bottom rack drops down into the door grove when pulling out to load further items, if the front is loaded with more than back - annoying & makes you jump as it goes with a thump !

+ Very efficient and quiet.

- Doesn't have the same load capacity as previous Hotpoint I owned (15 years old)

+ Excellent cleaning from just using the speed cycle, ultra silent. This was the biggest factor when choosing the machine. Loads of different cycles to use and also self care cycle for the machine. Excellent value for money highly recommended.

Like being able to lower/raise racks for cups and glasses, also like folding rack holders on bottom shelf to enable pans to be washed flat.

- Bottom rack tips up when pulling out to empty machine if door not completely open.
Wash arms catch on stacked plates, even though plates standard size.

+ So quiet, you forget it's working.

- Plastic coating on the front has bubbled - probably from the heat and steam and being in a kitchen unit with a door.

+ Very good at doing what it is supposed to do i.e. cleaning dishes. Very quiet - have to check that it is still on. Nice sturdy racks. Dishes etc do not fall over when pulled out or pushed back in.

- A minor point. Tall glasses have to go on the bottom rack when you have standard size plates on the bottom - they all still clean very well though.

- Racking system is not as adaptable as I should like. The handle on the front of the shelves takes up valuable space, meaning that cutlery has to go to the back.

+ How quiet it is - fantastic. Great choice of cycles and offers a half wash too which is really useful.

- Top rack could do with a slightly different design to aid fitting in more cups and glasses.

+ very quiet, so many variations for the drawers. Can move and split the knife / fork trays around to suit dishes.

+ Very quiet - you have to listen hard to make sure it's running. Gives an excellent wash and has impresive choice of programmes. Very helpful to have fast short programmes.
Efficient and eco friendly to run, does a good job and competitively priced in view of its range of features.

- Upper rack requires careful and attentive loading - rather awkward for tall glasses. Lower rack well designed and capacious, easily accomodating saucepans, etc.

+ Super quiet and washes everything sparkling. Wash cycles seem to be longer on the latest machines but its no bother, just press the button and forget it. You might have to make a larger hole to route the cold fill hose as it's got an electric solenoid valve on the end.

The "Night mode" is largely unnecessary unless you have a bedroom next to the kitchen as I've found the "normal" mode to be infinately quieter than my previous dishwasher. Overall, a great purchase I am very happy with. Good price, good looks, good washing.

- Nothing untoward identified in the first few weeks of ownership. The pause button issue that many other reviewers have mentioned is not an issue for me.
