Hoover VHD944D reviews: Front Loading loading, 9kg capacity washing machine

+ Massive drum which means we can wash lots of items and it only takes about 1.5 hours to do a full amount. Does not matter if you have only a few items as it weighs contents and changes times accordingly.

- only had the machine a month or so so not really found any yet....

+ large drum for big loads. programmes that weigh the loads so no more energy that is required is used

- beveled front which makes it very difficult to stack tumble dryer on top aesthetically

+ Greta value for money for a basic machine - vey quiet compared to our old one.

+ Excellent quality, looks great, drum size is huge, cycle times are varied and useful especially the quick wash, spin is fantastic and also quiet, digital display so you know how long to go till the wash ends, we are very pleased with this washing machine.

- After a month we have found NO bad points.

Would have preferred non-plastic buttons.

+ Enormous drum size, very easy to use, 14 minute wash for things that just need freshening

- spinning does not remove enough water on some cycles but this can be remedied by using the 10 minute spin cycle at the end.
It's a bit noisy on high spin

+ Drum size is ideal for us my old machine was a 6kg this one is a 9kg. I like the way the machine weighs the washing and works out how much water is needed for each particular load. But not on all loads though. Very easy to use. I recommend you read the manual fully as you have to go through an installation set up with the machine. i.e rinse,empty, fill and spin etc to see how things are working.This machine is just the job for me.

- Its a tad noisy when its spins. But i can live with that.

+ I can do a really short wash or a long hot wash. I am in complete control of my laundry I can wash a small or really big load and best of all I can get my king size duvet in and give that a wash yippee it is brilliant

- Struggle to find any bad points but maybe a little difficult to get to leg adjustment after fitting to level machine.

+ definitely value for money and a good drum size. Good features and you are able to spin again if the cycle you chose did not spin it enough. Quich wash cycle has three times 15,30 and 44 minutes.

- Main cycle for cottons has pre wash built in so you have no cycle for cotton main wash without pre wash. Timings for most cycles are 1 hour plus.

- the spin speed on most of the programs you can only have 800 which its not enough when washing for instance jeans so i have to select a spin only at the end of the cycle.

+ Probably the best washing machine I've ever used. The 14, 30 and 44 minute quickwash options are so good, I use them all the time. It has a huge drum, is nice and quiet and washes really well on all programmes. After the 1400 spin the washing comes out so dry that I can tumble dry a wash-load in half the time I used to do. Can't praise this machine enough.

- The only negative point (and it's a very minor one) is that when you use the quickwash programmes the spin speed is only 800 and you have to re-spin the wash load at 1400.

+ good drum size and energy efficiency rating is perfect.it automatically detects the amount of load in the drum and adjust accordingly thus saving you money.

+ Excellent. Very pleased with all the features and especially the variable cycle times, temperature and spin speeds. I like the idea of being able to manually select features to suit your personal wash load (shorter cycle for lightly soiled laundry for example). Machine is very quiet. Extremely clean laundry - very pleased!

- Cycle times are a bit long. You can use a rapid cycle but only for lightly soiled clothes. I have a 6 year old and 4 year old and nothing is ever lightly soiled.

+ The drum size is amazing. I have so much washing and this machine is the answer to my prayers. It washes brilliantly and is as quiet as a mouse. The spin speed is great not too much as to create loads of ironing but enough to ensure good drying time.

- when washing one item it isn't always able to spin because of weight distribution. If it hasn't spun i put a towel in with the item to add weight and run a spin cycle and this seems to work. So i don't really find it a problem.

- needed to have a joiner box it in at a high price because it's so powerful it moves out of the room and makes a terrible noise

- .....but when it says one minute left to spin, it is much longer than stated.

+ Takes a huge load, very quiet apart from full speed spin (1400rpm), choice of 3 wash times to cope with lightly soiled, normal and very dirt washing (white socks wash best on normal or dirty wash times)

- Cannot spin single items, have to add a bath towel, so not good for rinsing and spinning out swimming kits. Wash times very long, not important when washing machine is full as it takes double the load of a normal machine, but when washing half a load, wash times seem very long.
