Hoover HED6612 Reviews: Freestanding, 60cm wide, White Dishwasher

+ The dishes come out nice and clean, and it's relatively quiet and quick.

- Almost all dinner plates are too large for the bottom tray and therefore the spinning arm catches or gets completely stuck on them. Also bottom tray about 1cm too small width ways and therefore when puching tray back into dishwasher after loading it falls off runners and gets stuck.

+ Not too noisy

- Often find dirty bits in cups and mugs. Its difficult to load. The cutlery gets caught around the handle. We didn't know the top tray could be raised for size of plates in the lower tray, there were no instructions about altering it in the manual so for the first few days washing our plates were being hit by the rotor arm. My husband was the one who noticed the two sets of wheels and just tried it to see what they were for. Now the top tray is raised we can't use the flap down sides for small cups, the room above is far too shallow.

- THIS DISHWASHER WAS A PURCHASE FOR WORK. WELL PRICED BUT THAT DOES REFLECT IN THE POOR QUALITY. IT IS VERY FLIMSY. THE COMPONENTS ARE MADE OF CHEAP PLASTIC AND DO NOT MOVE WITH EASE. THE DINNER PLATES HAVE TO BE LAYED AT AN ANGLE (OTHERWISE THE SPRAY ARM CANNOT TURN PROPERLY). I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DISHWASHER TO ANYBODY AT ALL.

- If you're not careful how you load this washer, the door for the tablet jams and the tablet drops out when you open the door when the wash is finished. Also can't get chopping boards in very well and the compartments for the cutlery are too small

+ Everything is good about it. The wash cycles, It was the best value money could buy for performance, cycles etc.

- Most people complain about the noise, however, it may be a little noisier but when you compare that to other machines which have the same facilities then it is certainly worth paying less for a few decibels more noise.

+ Easy to use. No need to refer to insructions at all. The instrument panel lets the user know all. Also has ample room inside for all sorts of plates, cups etc as well as a good sized cutlery basket.

+ Quiet, reasonable cleaning

- Too high to go under standard work surface easily, had to take the wheels off. Had to change the position of the top tray just to be able to get standard dinner plates in the machine, as a result cannot wash tall wine glasses. This was not the case with our previous Whirlpool dishwasher.

- will not take our dinner plate unless placed in the wrong way round and to get clean a large gap has to be then left between each plate meaning only 4 or 5 can be loaded at a time, if stood properly the top washing spinner catches on the plates and then does not clean the top tray of crockery

- Cannot fit a plate that is very slightly bigger than average in the bottom rack, it catches on the rotating arm.

- I think that the intense program washes and drys very well, the other washes don't dry quite as well, so I do find that I have to manually dry items.

+ went to look at dishwashers before buying and this was sturdiest of the cheaper products, especially the door catch so very happy.can even change the sizes of the cutlery holder. quick wash is very quick and good! you can also make the cycles faster by attaching the hose to the hot water inlet (see instructions that come with item). dont agree with the poor reviews re: top tray, as its height adjustable which is really easy to do as top tray has 2 sets of wheels on, just take clip off the ends of the bar & move it up! and can also move back down depending on what you need....... dead easy if you bother to read the instructions! Nice, easy, simple to use, uncomplicated design and good outlay and doesnt look/feel cheap.

- We had a small leak from the dishwasher door. On investgation it was because we had put some scissors in the cutley holder and the handle had trapped in the door seal so that the seal was open. Be careful when loading and you won't have a problem

+ I found it was a time before I was able to work out what programme was best for me but once I decided then I am well pleased with the way it cleans and dries the dishes.

- I find that Hoover must be mad the away the dishwasher is assembled. They give you not real information in their instruction booklet that the top shelf is fitted in the lower possition and that it can be highered easily . The way it was delivered to me meant I was unable to fit dinner plates into the machine until I found out for myself how to solve the problem. The instruction manual has been put into English by someone who doesnt really know the language that well.

- The top rack is very awkward to adjust to a higher level. The cutlery basket does not accommodate all items unless the tops are removed.

+ Fantastic value. Cleans much better than out old hotpoint dishwasher. Gets out tough marks first time and everything is sparkling. Has a range of programmes for all situations.

- Did have to move the top tray up so that we could fit our big plates in the bottom but adjustment was there already. Slightly harder to fit in larger objects than our old dishwasher.

- The cleaning performance is far inferior to the two other dishwashers I have had in the past and does not get the dishes and crockery totally clean. I have had to do a double wash on a number of occassions where food has been left dried on and stains have embedded in glasses and cups, where they haven't been rinsed properly. The top basket is totally inadequate for tall glasses or glasses with stems and there are always droplets of water still lingering after the cycle has finished so the drying cycle is totally inadequate too. I've only had it for a couple of weeks but I am really disappointed with this product and am seriously thinking of returning it for my previous make.

+ This was our first dishwasher so didn't want to spend too much. Chose hoover cos already got hoover washer and pleased with that. Cycle time good. We tend to stick to one cycle which cleans everything fine. The price was good and it does the job well, leaving everthing dry.

- The handle/opener could be smoother as it sometimes hurts/cuts into your hand slightly when pulling door open.
