+ Installation of the software was straightforward. The sample photo that was printed was really good quality, akin to a postcard photograph. For black ink prints, the printing speed is really fast. The paper carriage is a lot more reliable than the older HP printers I used to own. Previously if you put glossy paper in (for example) it would sometimes take in 5 sheets. They seemed to have smoothed out this problem.
- When the printer is turned on, it takes a while to warm up. If you do any scanning and printing ensure you watch out for "redness". It seems quite keen on printing a lot of red for some reason (even when I used CMYK as the colour template).

+ Fantastic quality printing on both photos and word documents. Has an option for double sided printing to save paper and prints very quickly. Really good printer overall.
- Ink cartridges do not last very long even on draft printing,so it works out quite expensive to run.

+ Quite quiet, good memory ie: a 4 page PDF Form will transfer from pc to printer almost instantly thus releasing pc for further use while the printer is still printing the form.
- The first replacement inks I bought cost more then the printer. I have since found another supplier where the inks and slightly cheaper.

+ Good Photo quality
- Does not print envelopes although states it does in the marketing information. Have contacted HP for help and they have given instructions but one envelope printed and then it stopped again. Prints address OK on paper but when an envelope is placed in the correct position it says printer is out of paper.
