Initial set up automatically removes old printer software

- Paper tray is rather flimsy and not as easy to use as it could be.

+ Can use without computer. Very easy to use with excellant quality documents and photos.

- Ink cartridges are only small so need replacing often. Originals are expensive but compatable ones are alot cheaper and work just as well.

+ When it prints, print quality is great, and speed when actually printing is faster than previous HP5510. When using USB connection spooling & print speed is excellent. FAx & copy functions great. Document feeder works OK at the moment but is noisy

- Very slow to print first page and unreliable when using wireless connection. Noisy (continuous background hiss). Still have not succeeded in scanning, despite uninstall/reinstall software three times. Have not been able to set up default A4 paper size, so all A4 documents are 'scaled' as if from Letter size paper.

+ reasonably priced with good spec

- HP or Adobe software incompatibility as it drops pages if you do a multipage scan to pdf. However you canuse Adobe pro and scan using the document feeder scanner and it works fine so to me this suggests HP software fault.

- Have not been able to get it to print wirelessly from Windows XP operating system computers that are set up for wireless operation. Very difficult to set up to work with Macintosh.
