+ fast good battery life, nice design, hdmi socket, big screen. light given size

+ I love the screen size and the feel of the keyboard. The start up was so easy, and any minor regrets of not just going for it on a Mac have completely died away.

+ Bought to replace our desktop and it's great. Automatically installs drivers when connecting my printer and Sat nav. It's got a bright clear screen.

+ for a 17" with full size keyboard, it's a bit heavy, as you would expect, but it's fast, clear and does what it says on the box

- The touchpad is rubbish and I am contemplating returning it because of this. I have to use an external mouse. Battery life is also very poor - 30 mins if you're lucky.

- the most annoying thing is that this laptop is forcing you to do things. I do not want to install northon anti virus that came as a trial with this laptop but each time i turn on the laptop it asks again and again . there is no way to stop this.

+ Literally everything is fabulous, I have no complaints whatsoever, the machine runs superfast even full of music with high speed games open. Set-up was as simple as it gets, it took me less than an hour to get everything (flash player, adobe, Spybot etc) updated and installed. I cannot recommend this laptop enough, especially at this price.

- The only bad point I can think of is the lack external of volume control, the only option is to use the on-screen control or fn +/- Not really a huge issue though!

+ Still getting used to Vista, and the upgrade from my faithfull hp pavillion ze5600 is amazing, the new laptop is so fast and to use wirelessly is fantastic.

+ very good spec with 3GB RAM and huge 250gb hard drive for any needs. The 17" HD screen is very clear and great to watch dvd's and blu-ray when connected to the ps3.

- Restore disks. 3 Hours later Im informed i need dl dvds. So next day i bought dl dvds. Hour & Half later job done. Thats the only bad point.

+ Excellent for everyday use, wi-fi enabled which is very useful and the large screen is great for watching progs on i-player.

- Doesn't fit into my old laptop bag because of its large screen.

+ Brilliant widescreen 17 inch display, runs very smooth and fast. Lovely design and love lightscribe as an added feature!

+ Smart, stylish and I love the large screen. Keyboard is easy to use and very responsive. Touchpad is easy to use and the cursor goes where I want it too! The battery time is longer than previous laptops that I've used and also recharges quite quickly. All in all I am very satisfied with this product.

+ Good multi-tasking (Must have been invented by a woman!) ;o) It seems that Vista is more along the lines of UNIX/Linux nowadays. Microsoft have been promising a true multitasking operating system for decades. It seems to have arrived at last in the shape of Vista.

- Performance not as good as I thought it would be for a new machine considering the fact that I was expecting my old PC running XP to be lot slower in comparison.

+ Good value for money. Was looking for a desktop but changed my mind when I saw this Notebook PC for such a good price. Performance compared with a desktop (at this price) is equal for most tasks (email, browsing etc.). Plus it saves space and has WiFi built-in. I don't plan to move it around the house (or elsewhere) very much, but it is nice to have the option. The wide screen looks great. Full size keyboard (plus number pad) is a real bonus. It has an HDMI out port, which I have not used yet, but could be useful at some point for watching DVD's. Looks nice when closed (piano black) - you even get a little polishing cloth to keep it shiny!! Highly recommended.

- Windows Vista has some annoying habits which take getting used to, but you have this issue with any new PC...

+ IT IS QUICK ON START UP, AND LETS YOU GET ON WITH THE JOB.

- SCREEN COULD BE A BIT BRIGTHER, AND BATTERY LIFE LONGER

- There isn't any really, if you have to find something the screen and casing do show the dust and fingerprints. But then again most laptops do.

+ Handsome design. Easy set up. Excellent display. Key board and touch pad are light and responsive. Many applications still to be explored, but very pleased with my purchase so far.

- Quite heavy. Small niggles, such as screen brightness, which needs to be adjusted manually every time the laptop is switched on.

+ the best lap top mouse pad I've used - you really don't need a "proper" mouse with this one. I only use the pc at home so battery life isn't a problem for me - but not the best and if you want to rely on battery life I wouldn't recommend it. But other than that, I've found it to be a good value-for-money solid performer. It looks pretty good - a bit shiny perhaps. The keyboard is good to use. The amount of memory etc is plenty for my use. I'm very happy with my purchase

- battery life isn't brilliant - but given the capacity of the pc that isn't too suprising. Remember to turn off the WLAN when you don't need it and that gives you more time!

+ Perfect specification, easy to set up, fast, responsive, versatile. Great large screen, plenty of space to get information in view when multi-tasking, no reduction in speed noticed when doing numerous tasks because of 3GB RAM.

- Slightly heavy, battery life could be a little better, but no different to other laptops !!

+ Great graphics, reproduction of photos especially good. Good screen area for viewing and working.
Keyboard very smooth, so glad I got one with a separate number pad!

- Disappointed with battery life, expected around 4 hours, but at best 2.5-3.
External battery charger gets very hot, too hot to leave on some surfaces.

+ Versatile, and easy to use. Excellent screen with good clarity. I am 61 years old, and short sighted, but I find it easy to work with this laptop easily & happily. I have changed from Dell.
