- BATTERY IS ITS WORST POINT DOESNT LAST VERY LONG. I DONT KNOW HOW SOMEONE NEEDING TO USE FOR WORK FOR STUDY COPES WITH IT IM AN O A P AND DONT USE IT ALL THAT ALL MUCH AND HAVE TO PLUG IN AFTER LESS THAN AN HOUR AND 20MINS.

+ This was the ideal choice for me. It's my first laptop and I don't know much about computers. I needed something that was easy to use and effective and this definately is. It was really easy to set up (just turn it on and follow the instructions!), which took about 2-3 minutes. I didn't need to install or load any software. It automatically connected to my wireless internet and I just plugged in my printer and it worked straight away. I haven't encountered any problems Very happy with the product, and with the price! (I've been told by a friend that it's quite high spec for the price)

+ I bought this laptop for my Daughter's 16th birthday a few weeks ago and she's absolutely thrilled with it, saying that it's totally AMAZING!! The graphics and sound are fantastic and the overall speed of everything it does is brilliant. We had so much fun with the crystal clear web cam when we discovered you can do all sorts of horrendously funny stuff with it (distort pictures/videos and add other fun stuff to them afterwards). It has so many amazing features to keep my Daughter happy, and best of all is that she no longer wishes to use our main desk top PC, so now I have that allllll to myself!!!! Woooooo ~ happy days!!!

- Haven't found any bad points as yet, and although I've only given the 'battery life' a score of 7, that's simply because we aren't really sure of this yet. My Daughter usually has the laptop plugged in to the mains while using it anyway , mainly because the socket is next to the chair that she sits in to use it, and also because the screen ( back light?) appears brighter when she does so. The glossy finish of the laptop is definitely a finger print magnet, but hey ~ all it needs is a quick wipe over with a micro fibre cloth and they're gone, so it's hardly 'a problem' or a bad point.

+ Nice screen not pushed it to full potntial but we are getting on quite well given that this is my first lap top. With reference to the design - the keyboard is great nice size buttons. Glad that the mouse pad area does not match the shiny cover like the Dell 1545 hated all the finger prints.

- Shiny cover - why? It gets grubby quite quickly and shows up fingerprints but at least I dont have to look at it while I'm working. I know it sounds alittle sad but it does annoy me. Otherwise its all good - one other minor point it does take a little while to start up.

+ i bought this laptop for my daughter now i want it ,it is faster than my home computer, nice style she loves it ideal for school work would recommend

- would like battery life to last a bit longer but you can,t have it all

+ With the 3GB ram, programs pretty much open before you have clicked on them! The sleek black look is great. The number pad on the left is handy for data entry.

- Instead of having to press Fn....skip track, play, stop etc. Would be better having press buttons on the front base of the laptop. And coming from a large laptop before this one, I found the keyboard too close to the edges. :)

+ bought for my daughter's 14th birthday- she has only had it for a couple of weeks but is very pleased with performance so far. we can't comment on battery life as she has only used it in the house so far. screen brilliant and plays dvd's easily

+ Sleek and beautiful design - the mousepad is a joy to use and has the prefect texture so there is no finger drag. The screen is lovely, bright and clear. Sound quality is very good. System recovery is easy and quick. We encountered a virus when my daughter allowed a suspect program to download, the resultant reset to factory settings via the recovery partitioned operating system was straight-forward and quick. The lap-top is very well made, solid with an impression of quality. We are very pleased with it and have recommended to our friends who will be purchasing the same model very soon.

- battery only seems to last for about an hour on the balanced settings. Very disappointing

+ Its quick to start up; quick at everything really. I can play Sims 2 on it without it freezing or going all funny.
Great at everything really, haven't found fault with it yet and I have had it nearly 2 months now

- Has windows vista. Vista is not as user friendly as XP. There are still many pieces of hardware for which drivers are still not available for vista including printers, cameras and sat nav's. It would cost me a fortune to throw away perfectly good equipment in order to purchase replacement items to run on vista.

+ I like the overall design and love having the full keyboard. The performance is good and I like the lightscribe drive.

- It is a bit weighty to carry around but as it has the performance of a pc that can be excused. The battery life could be better but I usually have mine plugged into the mains.

- The key board should by laid out differently with more space for typing, and the battery life could be better aswell.

+ This was purchased as a present for my daughter, she is delighted with the product.
She said it was quick and that she liked the feel of the keyboard.

- She has'nt complained about it!

+ Reasonable specification at a great price, makes this ideal for anything from watching media to running a developer IDE such as VisualStudio. Easily 'downgraded' to XP x64 or upgraded to Win 7

- Synaptics touchpad needs to be setup correctly to stop the cursor jumping around. USB power is maintained to a hub or HD if connected and the laptop powered off when plugged in. Suffering from a

+ Good price, easy to use, loads up quickly and is fast opening documents and using the internet, definitley better than our standard PC, plenty of software/additional functions (comes with works), nice big screen, really good memory and hardrive for both everyday and business use, attractive exterior design (the shiny cover is not an issue for me)

- I have found that the underside of the laptop gets quite hot after prolonged use so watch out if you've got it on your lap!! It is quite big and chunky, definitley bigger than I thought a modern laptop would be even with a big screen size, I have an old hp which was brought in 2003 and they are about the same size and thickness!! However in comparison to the tiny laptops/netbooks that are around this laptop does come with alot of power, storage and memory so I think it depends on what you are really going to be using it for. Battery life as usual but we always use it plugged in anyway so not a huge biggie.
