+ Its fast, decent and reliable. Branded name so I know if anything goes wrong with it I can always get it sorted...nice big screen...actually half decent for gaming too.

- Bit of a boring design and a little heavy in comparison to what else is out there...had to buy something within the hour and I chose this....to be fair, it does the job...with a bit more time on my hands I could have probably got something better.

- Battery life say's 3 hours, but in reality is closer to 2hours before needing to be recharged

- The software should enclude the micro soft package

+ Exceptional value for money. Beautiful design. Good screen size. Built-in webcab fantastic. What more can I say! I would most certainly recommend this laptop.

+ the screen really is massive, i bought mine for home working so i's just like sitting in the office in terms of resolution. the 5-in-1 card reader is a nice function, for transferring data, photos etc automatically. Of course this baby comes into its own when you play DVD's or watch anything online. superb sound and vision.

- it is heavy, if ou do want to lug it around get a good bag to carry. It's designed to be stationary not the most portable if that's what you are looking for.

+ The laptop is all I wanted and more. I have been using it now for a month for personal use, but have not done all that can be done as far as I can tell.

- The battery life is the only disavantage, but even that is ok when I plug the re-charger in and carry on using it.

+ Integrated features. Sound and graphics quality.

- Vista pre-loaded - took ages to get XP working just right with all drivers.

+ being my first laptop i found it so easy to use even down to setting up internet e mail a very good overall laptop

- Very badly laid out keyboard, and indistincr letterering completely ruin this laptop. I make numerous typing mistakes, and it's nowhere near as good as my previosu Sony Vaio laptop.

+ This is the second hp pavilion I have brought. I like the sleek design, and practability. They perform very well, and quietly. The specs are to a very high standard.

- Can't think of any right now.

+ Looks good, beutiful screen, enough bells and whistles.

- The OS was not wiped from the previous owner. Not a problem as this was easily done with the HP software. Battery life is not as bad as people make it out to be.

+ Familiar layout to previously owned HP laptop. Very easy to set up and attach peripherals.

+ Very stylish laptop with a big clear screen, looks very good and performs well

- Vista takes a bit of getting used to but that isn't the fault of the laptop!

+ It's fast enough and comes with lots of good features such as the webcam and hp quickplay. It alos looks tasty and most importantly there's nothing better value on the market. Also 17" screen is a boon!

- Battery life isn't great but being reasonable it's average amongst most laptops,

+ Great spec and seems to perform flawlessly, even on games thanks to the Geforce 8400s graphics.

+ Very pleased with the whole system. I chose this system because of its dedicated graphics which has not disappointed.

- There is rather a lot "junk" on the screen as supplied but easily got rid of. The instructions for making a backup disc of the recovery system were a rather hidden - for such an important proceedure they could have been more obvious.

+ screen size, looks and price. Quite quick and the operating system is sleek and lovely to use. Overall a nice machine. But next time I will save a little more money and buy a higher end laptop.

- Of course we are talking about a cheap laptop here, and its my first laptop, but I have a few comments. Firstly it feels as though it won't last very long, keys are lose and the whole thing has a very flimsy feel to it. The sound is quite poor too, the volume doesn't go high enough for my liking. Battery life is very very poor. But as i said above, its a cheap machine so perhaps you pay for what you get. I don't dislike it, but I had higher expectations. I just have to get used to it now.

- Battery Life is pretty bad, but it doesnt really matter because its 17 inches. not exactly the laptop you'd use on a 3 hour commute to central london.

- tricky with sound output with hdmi port and volume control from speakers to get balanced if using headphones. I believe just needs investigating on how to use various features

+ Bought as a replacement for a desktop. Nice large screen and excellent picture quality. Great design, with a well laid out keyboard It's a really nice design with great build quality. A great product.

- If you require portability then this product is a little heavy and battery life is quite short, around 3 hours.
However I use it mainly as a desktop, and the large screen is excellent.

+ Great for me, Great screen, good sound, good graphics, good computer, 17" is a good size if not a bit big if you wanted to carry it about (but I don't)

- All the 'Free software that nobody wants that comes with it and really slows every thing down' a windows disc and a disc with drivers would be nice, as you need one to remove all the rubbish that comes installed

+ Laptop excellent. Nice design and a very nice feel to the keyboard. I've had other laptops where the keyboards drive you crazy. Weight and battery life surprisingly good for a 17" (much better than my Acer). Great video card.

- A recovery CD/DVD with an operating system and laptop drivers would have been a good idea.
My first experience of Windows Vista which is dreadfully slow and cluttered with unecessary programs - once you clean this up and disable unecessary startup's the machines speed is very good. If running with full Vista features you really need more than 2Ghz of ram.

+ Key pad spacious, screen appears larger than previous 17" laptop - perhaps due to screen resolution etc. Windows Vista easy to use and helpful instructions, laptop faily light in weight compared to Packard Bell. Everything about product is stylish, yet simplistic for ease of use.

- battery life could do with being longer than 2 hours.
