+ can be used as a stand alone without your computer. the menu is very easy to follow and the machine itself is very compact for what it does. So much better than my last one!

+ Gast enough for home use with good colour definition.Easy to read screen that tells you every stage it is working on so you know where you are all the time.

- if you switch off and remove the paper (mine is in a small area so I close the paper draw so not to damage it) when starting it up again it seems to always have a paper jam with the first copy.It however isn't one and the solution is to switch it off and on again.

+ Very easy to use, I was able to tell a friend, who had never owned a printer before, how to use it over the telephone and after being told once she can now do it herself. Love the HP Photosmart Premier software that came with it, it is so easy to use and makes editing and sending pictures to friends very easy

- Mine insisted on printing the last page first. I had it set in the default setting to Front to Back, but have had to set it on Back to Front so that I get pages in the order I want i.e., first page first. Has is got a glitch or do they all do this

- Once a page has printed, there isn't a tray or divider - the paper simply falls back onto the pile of unused pages and falls off the printer.

+ The printer is extremely simple to set up & use. The stand alone functions make this printer ideal for such things as copying & printing photos from a camera card without the hassle involved with some computer software packages. Having individual ink cartridges is a good idea if you use one colour more frequently.
I bought this model printer for home use as I already had the same printer for an office based voluntary work position I have.

More than adequate for the average home user who wants an occasional colour printer and scanner.
Scanner resolution is more than adequate for home use.

- Software seems quite memory/processor intensive and loads up on start-up. This could slow down older machines.
