- Can't review routes taken in the past. Does not show accurate arrival time (does not factor in delays of traffic or even traffic lights). Traffic information attachment must be purchased separately. Need more frequent map updates to account for changes in roads and locations of petrol stations etc. Does not have a pre-programmed list of places of interest e.g. train stations, convention centres etc. that the tomtom has. Software that allows you to use the nuvi whilst on the comupter woiuld be helpful - faster to program locations. Cannot download a car-log or recently travelled routes.

+ compact enough to fit comfortably in a pocket but the screen size is still more than adequate. Touch screen easy to use. Many extras such as mp3 player, not yet used. Postcode entry makes search easier. Will get you there even if it takes you on an extended journey! Missed the turn or there are roadworks? This unit quickly recalculates and gets you back on track.

- A bit annoying when you know the route or at least know part of it and this unit keeps telling you to go a different way which you know to be much longer or through narrow lanes! This however can probably be overcome by switching the unit on nearer to your destination.

+ I've used a TomTom before and I can honestly say this is much better I love the MP3 player and the audio book facility. I think the navigation screen is much easier to follow than other satnavs with very clear instructions and I would recommend this wholeheartedly!

- One thing I would like is if it told you how long the total journey would be its a minor thing as you can look at you watch and the the time to destination! There has only been on occasion when I got lost and to be fair it got me too my destination which was a field next to the motorway but just not the road that lead me to the field!

+ Display as good as my old mio c310x. The display is MUCH better than a tomtom 3rd edition.
Nice case and excellent windshield mount (better than tomtom)

- my old MIO GPS(satnav) has a brilliant feature:
it knows the speed limit for the road you are on, and warns you when you exceed it by whatever amount you set (I chose 10mph over speed limit) Neither the tomtom or this garmin have this feature! Avoiding traffic tickets is a feature that will pay for a GPS. This garmin warned me whae I was in the area of a speed camera or mobile speed camera. But the stupid thing is it would continue warning me by beeping even when I was going slower than the speed limit! Why? it knows the speed limit and knows my speed so it should know I am not in danger of getting a ticket.

Comes with carry case.

- It does sometimes recalculate the route in the middle of me following the suggested route. Once it told me to turn around on a duel carriage way. Not a good idea.
There is no battery is low warning so just cuts out when the battery has died.
It does seem to take very long, weird and wonderful ways to get from A to B. On one journey it favoured 7 miles of off track county roads over a straight run on the A64.
Should have a mains charger.
It did get get confused at a road diversion due to roadworks.
It gives some directions too late, eg. when coming to a roundabout where you need to be in the correct lane it will tell you last minute to take the 3rd exit.

+ Clear, easy to follow directions. Quite straightforward to input details of your destination - once you've managed it once, you shouldn't have problems doing it again! The unit is compact, and doesn't take up much valuable windscreen space - it doesn't obstruct your field of vision.

- It is not as up-to-date as it could be - for example, around eight years ago, my road was turned into a cul-de-sac. The directions to where I live send you the WRONG way. At least now I know why LOADS of HGVs come down here despite the 'Road Closed' sign at the top of the street! If we could up-date on-line, it would be helpful - but I understand that the road data are very expensive, and this is why not only the Garmin, but other similar products are slightly out of synch with the real-time road information.
