Spoken Commands, Safer Hands-free Control

nüvi 865T not only tells you where to turn, but also listens to your spoken commands. There’s no need to touch the screen – simply speak your instruction and nüvi responds, making operating the sat-nav quicker, less distracting and safer to use on the move. Just tap the ‘push-to-talk’ steering wheel remote, say the address, point of interest or a shortcut instruction like ‘find the nearest cash point’ or ‘play MP3’ and navigate confident you will keep your eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel. As you drive, nüvi 865T clearly points out the correct choice for approaching turns and exits with an accurate depiction of road signs up ahead. Lane Assist gives prior warning of the right lane for your onward journey, helping to avoid confusion or hesitation on motorways and at multi-lane junctions. With added Lane Guidance to preview up to nine lanes, nüvi 865T is your local expert wherever you travel.

Touch-free Phone Calls

Stay in touch on the drive. nüvi 865T’s built-in Bluetooth wireless technology and integrated microphone and speaker are set up for voice-controlled, hands-free mobile phone calls. Sync the sat-nav with your compatible Bluetooth phone to dial and accept calls through the device. Use together with contacts in your mobile phone address book and make calls to points of interest destinations on command. nuvi’s built-in FM transmitter¹ broadcasts phone calls, turn-by-turn navigation and MP3s all through your car stereo to keep you in complete control of your journey.

Smart Traffic Avoidance

Steer clear of traffic with dependable delay information from nüvi 865T’s integrated traffic receiver. Stay aware of jams, accidents and roadworks on your journey, with real-time alerts using live data from cameras every two miles along major routes and trust Garmin’s turn-by-turn navigation to find a better way around the tailbacks.

Enhanced Navigation

Park position recall automatically marks your location as a point on the map when you remove the sat-nav from the windscreen to make sure you never lose your car, When you want to return, ask Garmin to find your ‘Last Position’ and it guides you back there on foot.

Photo navigation redefines sightseeing by guiding you to the scene in a location-tagged photograph. Plan trips to landmarks and attractions simply and easily before you set off. Advanced route-planning features help make sense of a longer or more complicated journey. Save up to ten routes, specify via points and preview simulated turns. Garmin automatically sorts multiple destinations into the most efficient route for errands, deliveries or sales calls and wherever you go, it builds up a Track Log of up to 10,000 points to download and view in Google Earth.

Simple And Safety-Minded

Garmin’s built-in Cyclops safety camera database contains details of hundreds of fixed, mobile and temporary safety cameras, variable limit and red light speed cameras across Europe. The sat-nav compares your journey against a daily-updated log of safety camera locations and uses a patented ‘corridor technique’ of camera validation to ensure alerts are relevant to your route and direction of travel.

If you need to know your precise location or find a local emergency service at any point on your journey, simply say ‘Where am I?’ or tap the car icon and nüvi 865T will give you details of your coordinates, with the nearest address and junction and the local hospital, police or petrol station.
