Don, Lancs, England , “IT Pro”

+ Small, lightweight, USB powered, duplex scanner. Produces PDFs of documents easily and quickly. The document feeder is useful, but I find that the stated 10 pages is usually too much, and 6 or 7 is safer to avoid feeder jams.
.

- Software is limited with no TWAIN support, so only the bundled software can be used. It's fine for the job in hand, but doesn't let you do anything else clever with the scanner: just produce PDFs of papers - but that is what you will be buying it for so you'll get over it quickly.

+ This is a really good scanner. If it cost a bit less, we would have several more in the office.

+ Fast, scans double sided and the quality is very good.
Very few paper jams and recovers from them well.
Can be run off the pc through USB lead although is a little slower than when on mains power Saved me loads of time compared to a flat bed

- Only 2 issues;
- Only scans to pdf so no good for imbedding scanned images into other progs (word, powerpoint etc)
- Can only scan flat items, i.e can't handle passports or images from books. Still need a flatbed scanner for that

+ Switches on quickly and is always there to convert a paper documents into PDF quickly and reliably

- Software somewhat confusing - wish I could save to a predetermined folder automatically (perhaps you can but I do not understand how). Wish you could add a page to an existing PDF document.

+ Scan quality is very good, scan speed is also very good. Small footprint compared to regular flatbed scanners.

- Flip open cover is a bit flimsy, it wouldn't take too much to break it off. I purchased a carry bag for it which is good, offering some protection when being carried in PC bag (backpack) and allows you to keep cables etc all in the one bag. Not quite as small as I would have liked but overall performance more than makes up for it.

+ Light weight, ideal for travelling.
Compact design, takes up very little space.
VERY easy to connect and use - simply press the button.
