+ The picture quality is outstanding;when veiwed side by side with other products such as Sony, Philips and Samsung, the picture on the Sharp was sharp. It was brighter clearer and less "patchy"

- The sound system on this television lets it down slightly, the sound is clear but the volme needs to be quite high while watching. However this could partly be the fault of the broadcasters as when the adverts come on it does need to be turned down. If I were to by this again I would make sure that the High definition DVD player had built in surround sound.

+ Looks lovely.

- Picture quality of DVD thru SCART is terrible. Much better than composite video, which is bizarre as that is the lowest quality input. Haven't got HDMI/etc going yet but hope that is better. Also - has an auto-off but won't auto-on which is annoying. Means you need to keep the remote around. The TV I replaced would happily sit 'off' but when the input signal turned on, the TV would spot it and turn on itself. The Sharp won't do that.

+ Looks good and plenty of connectivity. Easy to set up and install channels. Easy to change views etc for different screen option eg sports or films.

- Sound not perfect but with additional surround sound system its not an issue.

Anonymous verified purchaser , “I like gadgets!”

+ Good standard and excellent high definition pictures, Needs a separate audio system. Good EPG. All sorts of features and settings. Easy to assemble and set up/ tune in. Good looking set with slimline bezel. Good points easily outweigh bad points.

- Needs an separate audio system - built in speakers lack bass. Some shimmer around moving objects against slatted or venetian blind background in SD. Side connectors set too close to edge of unir - plugs project out the side and become obtrustive and spoil the lines of the TV (use 90 degree connectors). Still trying to work out the 4:3 16:11 default settings to get the picture to set itself properly!

+ Generally happy with the performance and the picture quality. However there is a problem with the sound. Occasionally the verbal transmission from the tv misses a beat. It is only for a second or two but it happens on both tv,s.
