+ Design only spoilt by the flimsy film holders; the main unit is very good. The quality of the output is excellent for copying both documents and film. The software supplied, Epsom Scan and Silverfast are both appropriate. Epsom Scan is very easy to use. Silverfast has more functionality but needs more effort from the user. The inclusion of Adobe Elements 6 is a nice bonus.

- The film holders seem to be flimsy. Hopefully the material is more robust than it feels; nothing has broken yet. Silverfast is not easy to get started with.

+ Very good quality scans, with a good software bundle. Scanner drivers compatible with Vista x64.

- Rather large. No dust cover. Silverfast not yet compatible with Vista x64 (but apparently coming soon).

+ Very high resolution scanner as expected. Speed of scanning excellent (although only marginal over my old Epson Perfection 2400 for everyday items). Film scanning better than previous Nikon and Jessop's film scanners I have used. Have yet to try out the Fluid Mount Accessory & expect superb results also.

- Bulky, but I knew this. Perhaps a tad bulkier than I thought, and my old cover no longer fits. No functional issues whatsoever.
