If you choose to use non Epson inks, the printer throws up a message EVERY time you print, reminding you of the fact that you are using non Epson inks. It will also not indicate your ink levels unless using Epson's own ink, so you don't know you are about to run out/what colour you are about to run out in. This is not particularly good since you can buy inks which are of a comparable quality for a lot less than the original Epson inks themselves. To bepenalised by having these continuous messages and not knowing your ink levels just because you choose to use a cheaper ink almost verges on Epson trying to force your hand to buy their products in what should be a free market.

It's really quick at printing your photos, obviously for better quality photos it takes a bit longer, but overall this is a great printer. Also, I like the fact that you can photocopy items and print photos from your memory cards without having to turn the computer on.

Expert reviews for Epson Stylus DX6000
TechRadar expert review
With the Epson Stylus DX6000 (¬£89 inc. VAT) you can't avoid the fact that Epson wants to sell you ink. When you print a job a progress box pops up showing the ink levels in the four cartridges. It's hard to separate the Canon and Epson in this respect, as they both supply comprehensive packages. Epson claims 27ppm for both colour and mono, but it was the slowest printer in the group, with 10 pages of text…
