Zanussi ZWF16581 reviews: Front Loading loading, 7kg capacity washing machine

+ Easy to use, washing beautifully clean, comes out nearly dry but not creased. Quiet even on the fastest spin. Tells you how long the wash cycle is going to be.

- Too many options and no explanation as to which programme you should choose over another.
always defaults to a 60 degree wash...considering the current thoughts are to help the environment and switch to 30 I find this astonishing! And in most cases the sin speed reduces to 900 and thus I have to put it on spin cycle afterwards, another 15 mintues! It would be so bad if it default to something in between the 1600 and 900 spin eg 1200 or 1400.

+ Excellent wash results. Quiet operation. Good choice of operation.

- I was hoping that the duvet cycle would take a double or even kingsize - unrealistic I now realise

+ Choice of superquick programmes which we are using regularly as worn once is a regularity in our household! 45 minutes is a great advantage which appears to be an average. Great choice of spin cycles.

- The rinse isn't great some suds left in the window but not been an issue marking clothing.

+ The instructions are self explanatory making it very easy to use. The quickwash facility is excellent. Cleans all items well. Am very pleased with the machine.

- Ordered the machine prior to moving into a new property and didn't realise that it's front does slightly protrudes which can make it stick out from the work surface. Disappointed that there is not more choice of spin speeds.

+ Quick washing time. Uses own logic (if you want) to work out how long to wash your clothes. Countdown display shows exactly how long there is to go before washing is ready. Quiet fast spin. Washes the clothes very well

- Awful lot of flashy lights (waste of energy) when machine is running, washing times are quite long, alarm doesn't stop until you turn the machine off - right pain if you use the machine during the night.

Proportional programmes adjust to load. Big drum is easy to load with more room to wash synthetics.

- No proper liquid dispenser so can't do liquid prewash. No prewash indicator on display.

- Cycle times quite long and rinsing is not the greatest.

+ its very straight foward to use has some good programes like the one for trainers and quilts the heavy soiled button is also great. the automatic half load setting is great as it is a bigger machine than my old one i dont have to worry if there are enough clothes or not the machine decides for me i just love my new washing machine

+ Cleans very well, quiet with good range of programmes and extras (more rinse or higher spin rates)

- Basic programmes can leave clothes with some suds, need to use extra rinse funstion usually

+ Easy to operate different cycle requirements without having to refer to manual all the time.

- Having always used 50 degrees for much of my washing, find it frustrating not to have this facility although I am getting used to doing most at 40. Wish some of the standard cycle times were shorter - 2 hours seems long!

+ Effient, looks good, very quiet, holds loads of washing which reduces how many washing I now do every weekend.

- To do a basic wash cycle takes 2 hours which I think is a bit long.

+ Its has a large capacity and programmes to wash almost everything. It is easy to use and very efficient, the delay programme is very useful, you can put a load in before you go to bed and programme it to come on the next morning - saves the rush when you're going to work, or means you can have a lie in at the week end.

+ I'm very happy with this machine. It's much less noisier than my last one. It's easy to use. It washes wonderfully clean and spins the washing a lot drier too.

- Didn't know that each of the programs have different amounts of washing (ie only 2kg for handwashing) which is a bit of a bind. Also have to change the socket used as the plug has a larger lead from it than the previous machine.

- spin speed is either 1600 or 900, could have done with a 1200 in the middle!

+ Its really easy to use and I like the fact that you can change the length of the programme by reducing water heat or spin cycle etc.

- The E10 button seems to come up from time to time which indicates that the load is not evenly distributed. This is a very good idea except that if you are not at home i.e. at work etc then the load will not be completed for a long time.

+ Sooooo quiet. Great selection of programs but I've been sticking mainly to the auto-sense ones. I love the way that it senses how much washing is in the machine and adjusts water usage and time of cycle accordingly. The 1600 spin has really made a difference to drying times. The program selection is so intuitive even my husband can work it.

- None that really bug - some of the cycle times seem long but I've never had a machine that tells me how many minutes are left on the cycle. Even the long ones are shorter than my old machine!

+ Lots of different programs including handwash and superquick.

- Can't choose to do a fast spin on a synthetic wash. Have to wait until the program has finished and then do a fast spin at the end. When doing a handwash program I found lots of traces of powder or conditioner left on the clothes, but have managed to solve this by putting a lot less of each into wash.

+ Easy to follow instructions for use. Large door and drum. Very low noise levels even on fast spin.Like the fact that there is a countdown clock so that you know how long the wash is going to last.Liked the alarm to signal end of wash.The door unlocks as soon as the wash is finished.

+ 7kg payload means you can get more in. 1600 spin speed, so your clothes come out drier. Surprisingly quiet. Delay start so you can use cheap-rate electricity.

+ This is a lovely washing machine. Easy to load. Very easy to use and with high spin rate clothes come out much drier. Settings and functions exceptionally clear. Alarm at end sounds when door ready to open.

- Alarm at end keeps going for approx 3 mins if you don't turn the machine off however can do night setting which stops spin until morning so not too much of a problem just a bit annoying at times.
