Zanussi ZWF14791 reviews: Front Loading loading, 8kg capacity washing machine

+ Very easy to use and lockable for small fingers! - easily adjustable cycles with a number of variations available re:spin/Temp and soil level - great if you like gadgets!!

- None so far although - our last machine was Zanussi and lasted 9 years daily use.

+ It's quiet and tells you how long each cycle is going to be. Large drum capacity also.

- Sometimes cycle times are inaccurate

+ digital display is very good. Large drum size is great. low noise. Having the ability to increase/decrease temperature and spin speed is very useful.

- If you over fill a wool wash it does not rinse very well. Twice I have had to put a wool wash through a second rinse cycle due to washing powder residue. There are lots of programmes, I still take pot luck sometimes.

Didn't think I would care about so much choice but I do like the superquick wash for doing quick rinses (without powder) of some items. The handwash & wool washes are great.
Great capacity

- As this is supposed to be an energy saving product, I wish the temperature would not default to 60 C
A full load can get a little noisy if slightly imbalanced (but not enough to stop the spin) during spin cycle.

+ I bought Zanussi because of past experience. ,Low noise and reliability

- I found the machine very inconvenient as unlike my previous Zanussi, you cannot change the spin times on all the cycles. This means an extra 16 mins onto each cycle should you want to activate a 1400 spin!

Definately not as good as my previous machine and I would hesitate to buy Zanussi again because of this.

+ Very pleased. Big loads, quiet, easy to use.

- Would like reduced rinse for use with Eco balls (no soap less rinse required)

+ Easy to use display. Larger than average drum size. Lots of different programs to choose from. Proportional program allows for a full cycle but with reduced time.

- Programme manual does not clearly explain how/when to choose between proportional or normal cycles.

+ Very quiet, even on spin cycle. Huge capacity.

+ This is the second Zanussi washing machine I have bought. I consider their washing machines to be hard wearing and extremely reliable. I had my last machine for 14 years before it needed to be replaced.

- No bad points.

+ The large drum is a great benefit savings made on soap powder, conditioner, reduction in number of washes done in a week.

- Have not found a wash cycle that suits my needs exactly but can adapt virtually each cycle.

+ Lots of programs, very quiet and lots of options. We use the time delay setting so much. It comes in so handy

- The default temp for a cotton/synthetic wash is 60 degress not 40 which means you have to change it each time. Other than that - its great

+ automatic cycle time reduction related to the size of the wash load. The delay timer is great for night time washing. large capacity and large door is useful for big articles.

On most important factor - I spent nearly three weeks researching washing machines so all of those features were important. Because I was served very well by my previous Zanussi I bought again. Time will tell.........!

- Interference (radio), No filter and water has to be drained before the 'filter' can be checked - will the fact that water remains in the machine mean it will rust faster? Spin speed of 1400 disappointing compared with my previous (21 year old!) Zanussi.

+ Great features, with all the programmes we would need as a family. Good drum size reducing the number of washes

- slightly larger than expeced and would not fit in the space we had our previous washing machine

+ Quality of cleaning is excellent when you choose the appropriate wash cycle and the little beeps at the end of the cycle.

- The temperatures on some of the cycles are set higher than I would require but it is possible to reduce them. The spin cycle is slower than I would choose for some cycles which means that a separate spin is necessary as the speed cannot be increased on a program.

- Not all settings allow a chnge in either spin or temperature.
Writing on side of dial is quite small.

+ I can wash a single duvet easily in the machine - the drum is huge.
There's a child lock, so my toddler can't play around with it while it's on.
Lots of different cycles and you can adjust each one for temperature, spin speed and soil level.
It's coping well with 3 kids, one of whom is in cloth nappies.

- I have to crouch down to look at the dial to make sure it's on the right setting - not so easy to see when you're stood up.
When the machine has finished, it beeps 3 times loudly -great to be able to hear that it's finished, but it repeats 6 times!

+ Time delay is useful and the display is great. Larger drum is also good. Really handy having a handwash cycle and a cycle for dirty trainers. It's a good solid machine and does the job well.

- No half load. Type of clothing dial is not as clear as it could be. Washing cycles are too long.
