+ control via the ball is good

- after several other dyson cleaners disapiointed that does not clean up to the edges of the machine as old ones did small dust receiver. and does not seem as powerful.

+ Best vacuum cleaner I have had-this is my third Dyson and I have had several Hoovers over the years.Certainly removes pet hair and odour very efficiently!

- Very heavy!!!! and takes alot of carpet fibres out of my very expensive carpets-some woven especially for me.
Hope I don,t end up with threadbare carpets!!!

+ good for reaching awkward corners and suction is good.

- very heavy on the wrist as most of the wait of the hoover rests on your wrist due to the ball action. Also the cylinder is very small and has to be emptied after every use.

+ Excellent suction and very easy to manouver. The head is smaller than my previous Dyson so I find it easier to get right into the edges of furniture. I am the owner of a large (very hairy) dog and this hoover makes light work of picking up hairs. The tools are easy to use and store away. Although Dysons are heavy I found this lighter than my previous one. I have had many hoovers but would say that this is the best one by far for picking up dirt and dog animal hairs.

- It would have been nice if the cable had been retractable (this is a disadvantage with all Dysons) but apart from that I can honestly say that I havent as yet discovered any bad points.

+ only used it once but sucked my rug off the floor

- broke on first use handle has a flimsy spring inside which broke, it wasnt very thick seemed very thin. once the spring broke the handle keeps popping up which means the roller on the hoover stopped turning so was not picking up properly.

+ it is abit lighter than my old dyson and it moves around alot better due to the new ball function.

- So far I have no bad comments to make about my new one, but I would like to add that as I have had three dyson now the one and only bad comment I would like to make is the material ie plastic which over the years it kept on breaking.

- Fills up pretty quickly, but I don't know if that's becuase it's got a small dust cylinder, or becuase it's doing such a good job picking up the dust.

+ The roller ball makes handling very easy and the attachments are easy to change and use, Emptying the cylinder is clean and easy. The clean up ability is very good.

- I am not convinced that this Dyson is better at picking up animal hair than my previous non specialist Dyson

+ We have 2 cats and this is the only cleaner we have brought that got the carpets really clean and hair free.

+ I bought it for a wedding present for my son and his bride. In response to the question would they recommend it, my daughter in law's response was very clear, they are both extrememly pleased with it and both she and my son really like using it.

+ I am impressed with the performance of this Dyson. I have three cats and always had difficulty getting the last remaining stubborn hairs out of the carpet but this makes life so much easier. The carpets are cleaner and brighter. It is as good on hard floors as it is for carpets. Very easy to use once you get used to the ball rather than the original wheels. It is a pleasure to use.

+ It is far more manouvarable (?) than my old DC04. It removes human and animal hairs from my carpets and has removed more dust etc from the carpets. It goes very close to the edges and under radiators. It is also far better to empty

+ Just got new carpet thought my old cleaner would be fine, old clearner not even a year old what a waste of time didnt look like i hoovered, left aven the smallest of cotton on the floor. Saw the Animal so i bought it as it was designed for animals in mind. which is fantasticI have a dog and i hate the hairs but this had great suction and you could see where you had hoovered and even lifts the carpet making the pile look like new

- dont think much of the stair tool so i use a different attachment which is great

+ The dyson really helps to get into tight places and is very slimline. The vacuum cleaner is also very mobile thanks to "The Ball" which gives full motion and helps to reduce the likelyhood of a bad back when in use.
The Machine is very easy to clean and do basic maintanence. The filter that needs to be washed is surrounded by a rubber ring which makes the cleaning process simple and easy!
Really great product!

- The wire is expected to take a lot of stain and pulling being wrapped around the places alloted. The wire on mine was being intermitent. This could have been a factory fault in the first place but i doubt that this fact really helped the point

+ It is the best thing i have ever bought, i have arthritis and the ball action has made vacuuming so much eaiser for me. The most brilliant vacuum cleaner i have ever owned

- Initial outlay is high in comparison to the competition, but should also outlast Them. Just replaced a 1 year old cheap Vax where the motor had started to burn. The Dyson I had before that lasted 10 years. Works out cheaper to by the Dyson than a cheaper model every year or two. So is this a bad point? Depends on the size of your pocket now and how many vacuum cleaners you want to own in the next few years.

+ I have two large dogs (Husky & German Shepherd) and the suction is brilliant, it does not struggle with the pet hair at all, unlike previous dysons. The ball makes it a lot easier to maneouvre, even my children can clean up properly now!

- Small waste bin, i always empty at the end of cleaning but its a pain having to empty in the middle of cleaning and at the end.

+ Easier to move/roll around than previous standard models.
The clear dust bin is so easy to remove and empty without dropping dust everywhere.
Extremely efficient at picking up dust.

- Still heavy so my wife refuses to use it....poor me!
The wand hose is a little too short for my liking.
After time the wand and its hose can get stuck in the housing ...easily remedied by a spray of silicone.

+ Powerful suction and cleaning with motor head brush. Quite easy to assemble and disassemble. Positive comments made by all members of family and visitors who have used the machine. Seems to promote confidence.

- A little heavy to turn for some people, but learning how to negotiate corners is an art that can be learned with patience.

+ So light to use and its good on all floors. I have a dog who is shedding hair at the moment at such an alarming rate - its the best vacuum I've ever had for my needs. My mother is a pensioner who found her previous vacuum so hard to move round - this one just glides and no effort is required. A brilliant purchase and good value for money!

- The instructions for assembling could do with being a little bit more detailed.

+ I like that the tools clip on & don't fall off like other vacuum cleaners I've had. The ball is great!! Cleaning is great too!

- Cleaning the stairs is a little bit more difficult because of the long pole attachment (would be better as a more flexible hose I think). Also small rooms can be tricky again because of the long pole & insufficient space to move the cleaner around.

- Its not so much bad a point, you have to get use to manouvering the ball, after a few bruises on the shins you get use to it. The pull out handle for stairs is not as flexible as I would like it and putting it back into ilst slot can take some time....again its just getting use to it.

+ The great pick up! On receiving my 'Animal' I vacuumed part of the lounge with our old Vax dual shampoo and carpet cleaner and hard floor cleaner. I then used the new 'Animal' on the same area. I was astounded at the dirt it picked up but especially the dog hair! The dirt container is easy to empty and believe me it needs emptying often! The ball is good for turning the machine into awkward areas.

- Although advertised as light weight I found it quite heavy. The hose I found is awkward to use as it is attached at the bottom of the machine and is used from waist height making the hose kink and it pulls the machine along.

+ Extremely good suction. Ball makes manouvrability easier.
