Dyson DC25 Ball All Floors Reviews: , Upright, Bagless Vacuum cleaner

+ Powerful, lightweight, easy to use, looks good and makes a distinct difference when cleaning carpets - alot better than previous models.

- No bad points as yet!

+ Easy to assemble when first received in its dismantled state. Relatively light compared with earlier models. Excellent suction (it appears to collect far more dirt/dust etc than our old DC04). Easy to manage in tight places.

- Difficult to remove pipe when wanting to fit tools. I took the skin off my knuckles when it suddenly became free as I was pulling. New users will need to familiarise themselves with the dismantling procedure. Quite a fiddly catch when trying to re-fit dust container after emptying. Leaves grooves in the carpets as the rotating brush is very vigourous. They are not permanent however.

+ Suction is very good and also the compact design makes it easier to move around the house and up the stairs. I am pleased with the performance it is also very good on hard floors.

- The capacity of the dust collector is small so requires several empties per use. The strong suction makes it a little difficult to use the upholstery tool because the hose constricts so strongly.

+ A well designed cleaner that fully satisfies the requirements that is made of it. It is well ahead of its competitors at this time.

- The construction material does not appear to match the quality that one would expect of such a well designed machine. It has the appearance of being constructed of lesser quality plastic.

+ Excellent suction, great hose and add-on accessories, ball technology makes it easy to hoover round corners and front of hoover is low so fits nicely under radiator pipes and wardrobe doors for better cleaning up to edge of floor. Easy to empty, works on both hard floors and carpet.

- Slightly heavier to lift and manoeuvre than my previous 'All Floors' Dyson.

+ Impressed with the power, the weight and the quality of the unit. Has a good warranty, but is expensive so you pay for it over time. It moves well and feels comfortable in use.

- Lots of packaging, some of the features are not quite as intiative as the older models, for example the wand is not the easiest to remove until you get the knack. Also the wand itself if rather ackward to use over a standard flexible unit.

- I do find that the suction could be better when it comes to picking up things like bits of cotton, as i tend to have to go round picking these up after i have hoovered!

- Initially, it felt a bit flimsy compared to my previous Dyson, it is much smaller – time will tell how robust it will be.
It took a while to work out how to use the built in tools as the instructions are not that comprehensive.

+ Excellant suction power.

- Somes the vents on the side the dusts around before its picked up.

+ Good points are the fact that it moves round the floor so easily and can change from one floor covering to another at the switch of a button and love the way the extension kit just pulls out of the handle so easily and quickly. Very happy with this hoover.

+ It has got a really good suction. Once you work out how the ball is working, its more less straight forward and easy to use. And it look stylish too

- It took me a while to work it out despite the "quick use quide". The only bad thing about this wacuum cleaner is that is very noisy espacialy when you are using the brush.

+ Much lighter than other similar products. This makes it easier to carry up and downstairs and it is very manouverable. Downside is that the dust container is quite small so it needs emptying more often. This is not too much of a problem because it is so easy to empty.

+ I always buy Dyson as I feel they clean extra special especially as I have real wood flooring it has been a great help to hoover floors as well as rugs and carpets I specially like the tool for stairs so much more advanced than my last Dyson (which has been passed onto my Daughter who is delighted)

The ball is a bit of a gimmick, does not feel any more manourerable than anything else.

- The house can get EXTREMELY stiff and the metal handle bit gets stuck in the tube, sometime to the point that it takes me to hold the hoover and my husband to pull it out. Do not do what I did and stand on the red pedal at the back to hold the hoover still to pull the hose out, as I managed to rip my big toenail off as the hoover shot out from my foot when the hose released! Difficult to hoover the stairs as cable not that long and hose isn't either! Saying that I still like it

+ Design & Performance

- Not very rugged, so needs to be treated with care.

+ The ball design accompanied with the usual performance (well for me anyway) makes this product an excellent choice.

- The cost is still high as it is a fairley new product. I am sure the price will come down making the product more value for money.

+ Great, Great, Great. It realy cleans to the edge of the carpet without the tools,and I love the way you don't have to change anything for different floors, I can go through the whole house in one go.It is so easy to use.

+ it does what it says on the tin!! i previously had the dc05 which was the cylinder model, reluctant to go for a upright -thought would be bulky heavy and clumsy to use but not at all. not disappointed at all was going to spend more on the animal model but am more than happy with the results we get from this, go for it!

+ Brilliant suction, works well on both laminate and carpeted floors. The ball at the front means that it is much easier to push in all directions - very handy!

- The dust cylinder is smaller than on my old DC04 and needs changing more regularly, it also seems to come away from the main body of the Dyson when i lift the Dyson up by the handle on it.

+ I love its suction power and there is something quite satisfying in being able to see just how much dust has been sucked up!

- Using the attachments for those 'difficult to reach' areas is a problem as I have a bad back and the flexi hose is not very flexible, I may need to invest in a hand-held product but time will tell.

+ Lighter than my other dyson and easy to use the tools.

- The lead doesn't reach far enough and the bin release appears flimsy as though it may break at some point even in normal use.

+ Getting used to the model after having had a previous model not quite the same but sure in time will get used to it, I wouldnt be without it.

+ Great suction. The ball makes it easier to vacuum. The hose is long enough to reach the top step on my stairway. Easy to empty plus no bags or filters needed. Suitable for wood floors and carpet. Great on dog hairs!

- I have a thick pile rug which is very hard to vaccuum - the suction is so strong that it's hard to push!

+ New ball turning system works very well and it has great picking up power on edges. Really easy to empty the cylinder. Seems to pick up huge amounts of dirt. The tools now click on nicely so don't fall of when you are using them.

- The hose with the tools is a bit cumbersome and you have to put the tools away before using the machine in the normal way.

+ Picks up well and moves around the floor with ease. Like that it works on all floors as i have tiles, wood and carpet.

- Quite heavy and to use the nozzle is quite difficult especially for hoovering the stairs.
