+ good suction, easy to use.

- a bit bulky with wrap around storage cumbersome to stay put. Also, trying to unlock filter is a bit tricky as I had to call the headquarter to find out how to use it and I know that if my husband should ever think he has to clean the filter he will end up breaking it as he always uses brut force and not knowing how he will surely bust it.

+ Picks up more from the carpets than an ordinary hoover

+ Fairly compact, as with dyson excellent performance, lots of interchangeable heads, simple easy to empty cylinder and filter that just needs to be washed with cold water instead of additional expense of buying replacement.

- Quite heavy especially if you are holding it whilst you are doing the stairs (slightly too big to put on stairs whilst cleaning them ). Sometimes isn't the most obedient cylinder to follow you around corners but maybe i cut the corners!!

- Did have a problem with initial assembly as a clip needed adjustment that I had not been aware of. written instructions rather than just images would be good.

+ Lifts pet hairs like magic. Best cleaner I have ever had with superb suction and ease of use. It makes vacuuming stairs so easy and quick. I can't praise this enough as it has more than halved the time I spend vacuuming. I put off buying a Dyson because of the cost, but it knocks spots off of the cheaper models

+ Excellent suction and very compact and easy to store. Ability to sit on stairs whilst hoovering added bonus. As have two lots of stairs to clean. On-board tools, very well stored on hoover, making for easy access.
Not too heavy to lift, bonus when having to climb 2 lots of stairs.

- When hoovering, tends to pull to the left, have to stop to straigthen out.

+ Always tremendous out of the box. We've returned to Dyson for a replacement machine and aren't disappointed. Visible improvement in pick up from very old machine being replaced - the benefits of the visible dirt collector!

- The only very minor niggle is that the power cable can get tangled around the floor head (if I knew the technical term...I'd use it). The new design has very ease to use levers to flick between hard floor and carpet settings but they do stick up a bit as a result.

- Expanding tube to brush head is not very stable.

- Heavy and a bit awkward to use - I prefer my old Dyson. The plastic extendable handle/hose is compact but heavy. I wanted to buy the non-stowaway version, but was put off by the design of the head which looked flimsy and has a bit at the back (that hooks onto the machine when you're finished) which does not allow it to lie flat when you're vacuuming under low spaces. All in all the older designs were better.
