The small tool is perfect, just takes a bit longer because its smaller. So although I do have some carpet, I prefer the small head attachent. This also gets ito the corners better.
But so far, my morning sneezing fit is no more. Fantastic!!!
Fits perfectly into a small storage space.
-
The main attachment holds too much grip to be useful on hard floors as it is hard to move it about.

good suction. easy to change the head for carpets and then to harder floors you just have to push a button rather than actually change heads.
-
The extedable tube is a nuisance as when you try to extend it it sometimes takes a few goes for it to click in place so when you start hoovering the goes back into itself and you have to keep extending it to stay in place.
The bendy hose is supposed to wrap around the machine when storing but it is very difficult to do and to get it to stay there i have given up trying. Also when using the machine (although we are probably not supposed to) but when you are using the machine and you pull it towards you as you are moving along the bendy hose comes out of the machine. Also when you are pulling the machine along it doesnt follow along in a straight line it veers off to one side which means you cant steer it through doorways and it is always crashing into the skirting boards you have to go and pick it up and carry it.
It doesnt sit on the stairs very well like my old dyson used to.
To sum up i would say that the machine is not very user frendly

Easily stored.
Great at hoovering laminate and carpets.
-
Once you have used it a few times the cord stretches and is harder to wind round the hoover.
When carrying the hoover bits are always falling off it

It is a little on the heavy side and the parts are cheap. The main stem of the hose keeps disassembling from the rest of the machine.

This is my third Dyson cleaner and I'm always very impressed with them. I've only given 8 for ease of use because it takes a while to unwrap the hose and put the head on but to be fair it's a Stowaway and that's what it's designed for.
-
I'm a little concerned about the Telescope Wrap as it does appear to be a little flimsy but then the cleaner does come with 5 year guarantee.

Light enough to use on the stairs, and the head unit can get under the bed. When working almost flat (i.e. me lying down!) the head has excellent suction - ideal for under the bed! Best when using the smaller attachments on the hose, and getting on tops of cupboards or in corners - very easy to use. When you get the suction the cleaning is great - it has transformed our bedroom, and my husband no longer wakes up sneezing as a result of his dust allergy!
-
The suction offered by the head when used upright (i.e. me standing up) is not that good for cleaning wider carpet areas. It tends to 'skid' off the carpet. I have another 'upright' dyson, and I use that for the main carpet areas.

light, powerful suction, great multi purpose main tool for hard & carpeted floors. wrap arpund hose & tool storage means its takes up hardly any space (the least of any vacumn I've owned), also means its easy to carry to a different floor (no tripping over pipes & hoses when coming down stairs). cleans the carpet really well, sucks up dust & dirt that you didn't realise was there, but the dyson does all the work for you so it doesn't feel hard work. easy to attach all the tools & take apart for storage. I'd strongly recommend
-
initial assembly instructions would be more useful if there were words rather than pictures, it took a while to work it out. to be honest i haven't found anything bad with the dyson yet. rrp is very high so you need to shop around, but the 5yr guarantee & quality of the product justifies cost.

Much easier to use than the previous Dyson models, seems to be stronger less likely to need to replace parts.I like the stowaway design it fits into the cupboard much better.I also like all the utensils on the main part of the vacuum, rather than the old way of being attached to the wand.

This is my second Dyson after making the mistake of buying a cheaper one in between. I have a big hairy dog and two cats and a cream carpet the Dyson makes pet hair disappear, it folds away brilliantly and is really easy and clean to empty. Please don't waste your money on any other brand like I did, just stretch that bit further and buy this. I have just taken down our real christmas tree and vacumed and it picked up every needle - Fab!

1. Telescopic Wand is too large in diameter making it awkward to use.
2. Does not sit on the Stairs as did the Model DC02.
3. Stair Tool too small in length compaired to the DC02, also awkward to use when fiitted to the telescopic wand / flexi tube.
4. Had I been aware of the above, I would have probably chosen a different model.
Rather dissapointing having used the Model DC02 for10 years
