+ This lives up to what I'd hoped Dyson would deliver. The suction is superb, and 3 months after moving in to our new home we still find it's cleaning really deeply. It's great to be able to see what's in the dust chamber, with no more concern about whether the bag's full or not. Emptying it is a doddle, as it keeping the cleaner clean. The slim head of the unit is great for getting under divan beds or low furniture. Definitely a good buy.

- Nothing much, except the storage for the additional tools on the back is not so hot. They get knocked off regularly, so we just store them elsewhere. Otherwise nothing negative to say.

+ Light to carry. Powerful suction. Very efficient. Clean to use & no odour. Easy to empty cylinder.

- Not easy to drag around without bumping the walls. Narrow head, means slow to cover large areas. Flex rewind gave up after a few weeks. Wand too short for 6' tall person to use, without causing back ache.

+ The colour, and overall design. Very modern and sleek looking, has a clever design to hold the attachments. Can cope easily with the fact that we have four long haired dogs and doesn't clog at all! Easy enough to push around the house though the sucktion can be a bit extreme at times making it a bit more difficult than normal.

- difficult to store anywhere, and to use on stairs.

- The only bad point is that the attachment tools keep falling off. Other than that it is brilliant. Another suggestion is having a larger attachment for hard floors - the brush is very small.

The best thing is that all the attachments fit on the body which makes it convenient to use and also dont have to look for them all the time.
At the time of buying, I was very sure that Dyson is the best make ..... but I was very confused as to which Dyson product will be suitable for my home (taking less space and hard floor!). This Dyson fits the bill .... all ticks on my checklist. It just coils up and fits anywhere!
The flat floor attachement is superb on the wooden, tiled floors and good on carpets too.
In all a very satifying product and value for money.

+ Works fantastic on hard floors as well as carpeted floors. Excellent suction, lightweight and good head for getting under furniture.

- This is only a minor complaint, but the cylinder for collecting dirt is not as big as the upright Dyson, so needs emptying more often. This however is not a problem because it does make the DC19 easier to use and more lightweight.
