Dyson DC18 Allergy Slim

+ Small so goes lots of places my old dyson wouldn't

- moving it takes some time to get use to as the ball seems to have a mind of its own!!

+ It is lightweight and easy to manouvre.

- Sometimes hard to connect to make stand on own

+ Ease of emptying

- Brush doesn't go round - does not pick up hair without clogging.

+ It.s nice and light and easy to handle in small or tight areas.

- Cylinder Dust collevtor needs emptying too frequently.

+ It picks up really well and is smaller than the standard size Dyson so it can go under furniture more easily. It's also a bit lighter to carry upstairs.

- It's not that easy to manoeuvre, but it does get easier with practice, it handles quite differently from my old Dyson. It also has a pretty small dust chamber so you have to empty it often. The emptying mechanism doesn't work as well as I'd hoped - you should be able to just shake it over the bin but in practice the dust won't shift without poking something in to loosen it.

+ Very easy to use, very manoeuverable, works well on carpets and hard floors, picks up dog hair very well.

- Pricey (but you do get what you pay for!)

+ Looks great, small so can store anywhere. Works great on floors and carpets.

- Hand tool wand is a bit hard to use, and not great suction, need to take the exension off to make it work.

+ Light, small enough to store easily, picks up very well.

- Can remain dusty after emptying.

+ Fantastic suction,lightweight,good on all surfaces,good retention of allergens.

- Bit flimsy,doesn't always stay upright easily enough,clumsy cleaning stairs.

+ Manageable, light and effecient, good result on carpets. I have a larger model also which is for all over house

- not ensuring it fixed for standing upright results in the handle collapsing knocking things.

+ It looks fantastic. It is also easy to push around and the pipe system is easier to use than the normal dysons.

- It is not as light as what you may think. I bought it because it was lighter then the other models but it is not noticeably lighter.

- Quite heavy

+ Lightweight, easy to use and change direction, easier to empty than older dyson designs.

- sometimes have to press the on/off button more than once to get it to work.

+ It's good that it is lighter than the previous Dysons we have owned. Its suction power is very good.

- It needs emptying much more frequently than the previous Dysons we have owned. The swivel needs a bit of getting used to

+ Very effective pick up - carpets look like new

- Difficult to steer at first - you need some practice!

+ Suction is fantastic. Cleaning up to the edge of the carpet - excellent. Ease of emptying excellent.

- At present cannot point to any.

- slight proble with the catch when not in use it can slip and the handle falls

+ Light weight, good suction and easy to manouvre. I have a low back problem and this dyson is so much easier than the last one.
