+ well engineered, looks like lots of design has gone into each and every part, great performance, it really cleans well which is the most important thing, no bags which makes it easy to empty and cheap to maintain and no waste bags in the bin (environmentally better), the ball means you can go round corners, its easy to move round furniture, the attachments are great especially easy to vacuum stairs

- it is quite expensive but worth it, it is quite heavy but I'm quite strong so not a problem to lug it upstairs

- It is tall, it doesn't fit into the place I originally kept my cleaner

- Long nozzle for edges is ackward. Previous Dyson picked up from edges far better without having to attach the edge device.

- THE BALL DESIGN PUTS ALL THE WEIGHT OF THE MACHINE ON YOUR WRIST SO IT BECOMES VERY TIRING TO USE. THERE IS LESS SUCTION THAN OTHER MODELS. THE HOSE IS VERY BADLY DESIGNED, NOT LONG ENOUGH AND DOES NOT EXTEND AS FAR AS THE OLD DER MODELS, OR COLLAPSE BACK INTO THE HOSE AFTER USE - KEEPS CATCHING ON THE NOZZLE QUITE FRANKLY THIS MACHINE IS PANTS

+ the remodelled head that is flatter and surrounding by rubber is a great idea, you can now get under furniture and around legs and radiators without bashing into everything.

- the hose for the stairs is still too short to take from the bottom to the top step, it is still necessary to lug the cleaner up the stairs to hoover the last few steps upside down

+ The ball - makes manouvering the Dyson so easy. Turns corners like a dream. Picks up very well at the edges and the facility to switch off the brushes is really useful when cleaning rugs and hard floors.

- The extendable wand, which forms part of the handle, is a little cumbersome and not that easy for cleaning the stairs or in a confined space (not easy to reach the top step without feeling as though you are going to overstretch the hose.

It is the best vacuum cleaner i have ever used.The ball makes it alot flexible and easy to manage around difficult areas.Also its very easy to clean and empty with the release catch at the bottom of the cylinder. So it can be emptied straight into a bag with no mess.

- the pipe does not reach to the top of my stairs. So its difficult when cleaning the stairs.

+ Suction is excellent, especially for dog hair. Maneouverability is excellent and emptying the "box" is brilliant.

- It is extremely heavy and bulky to carry. Whilst I love using it as an upright, the extension pole i(and accessories) is the most unuserfriendly I have ever come across. In fact I still use the hose element from my old hoover as this is infinitely better to use.

+ The ball design makes it much easier to manouver round corners etc. I have owned a Dyson before and this is definitely an improvement. The emptying of the dust bin is much improved aswell and it is done in one easy move with the press of a button. I have given the value for money a 10/10 because I got it half price. I dont know if I would have paid full price for it though. Dyson's are very expensive.

- The only thing I am finding slightly frustrating is the fact you cant keep the small tools attached to the wand when you are not using it so you have to keep putting it on and taking it off.

+ The rollerball makes this vacuum very easy to move around - just a flick of the wrist rather than hauling the thing round a corner. Also the Dyson is able to suck up dirt that might not be picked up otherwise, such as at the edges of the carpet near the skirting board. Its definitely powerful too. Filled up a whole container on the first try.

- The Dyson Animal is heavy. Whilst this is, in part, compensated by the rollerball, if you have to carry it up and down stairs you're going to notice the weight. Also the container that the dirt goes into is smaller than other Dysons I've used, meaning you have to empty it more often.

+ This hoover manouvres well and I found it easier to use. It also picked up well. I would go for the new ball tehnology again. It really does make hoovering easier. I like the fact it has a 5 year guarantee. My last hoover broke after the one year guarantee was just out.
