+ quiter than previou dyson, with a lot more suction, and the new dyson is a lot more versitile. The extra reach and lead length make all the difference

- Nozzle and attachments take some time to get used to, sometimes rather difficult to retract cleaning extension pipe into hose. Maybe it's just that they're different from my previous machine.

It would be really nice for Dyson models to have retractable cables given their cost.
Bottom-opening dust chamber should make for easier emptying, but I find the dust just gets stuck in it and I have to stick my hand in it to free the dust. However, this may be because I have newish carpets which are still losing a lot of fluff. Dust chamber also needs emptying a lot more frequently than old DC01.

+ It is very well designed, user friendly and does an excellent job. Everything clicks together easily - the tools are right where you need them and are easily detachable. It is simple to empty. It is very manoeuvrable and almost makes vacuuming enjoyable!

- Releasing the wand extension was the only thing that I had any trouble with but once I got the hang of it, it was no problem.

+ As value for money it cant be beaten. It is an excellent vacuum cleaner and I cant believe what its picked up out of the carpets that our old cleaner left behind!

+ This is the second Dyson Vacuum I have had. The first lasting over 8 years and had only worn out, not broken.
Good at picking up fine particles. Better than any I have had before. Better to empty than the previous model I had.

- The motor seems to be quite a bit noisier than the previous model. (DC01)
My wife finds it heavy to use. Possibly this is to encourage me to use it all the time.

+ LIGHTER THAN THE OLDER DC04 DYSON

- HOSE NOT AS EASY TO USE AS OLDER MODEL

+ This is is ridiculous! Its sooo powerful!
It was a purchase for my mum although i want one now too! Previously she had the DC04 and was not impressed at all with it.
She was then very sceptical on buying another dyson. But is now happy she did!

- The hose is quite awkward to use as its a long pole of which the first 3 ft doesnt bend or seperate. A bit too long.

+ Very good suction and easy to empty. Good attachments/tools.

+ After much consideration as to which Dyson to go for (I have 2 cats and a mixture of carpeted and non-carpeted floors) I opted for the cheaper version. In the past I've bought the top of the range with pet hair pickup accessories and the option of being able to turn the beater bar off, but quite honestly I didn't need them, and this cleaner is just as good. It still picks up all the pet hairs with ease and everything else put in its path. And quite honestly is much better value for money than the other more expensive versions will lots of accessories that never get used.

+ This Dyson has amazing suction. My last Dyson was about 10 years old and I thought good, but this one is fantastic. I had no idea my carpets were so dirty!

- The wand action iwth this dyson is still a little odd! The last one was a nightmare and every time you tried to use it all the tools fell off the top and the hose would come off of the end of the wand. This doesn't happen now, but it does sort of get a bit stuck sometimes.

+ Great suction from a great vacuum. I had an older model for a few years and would reccomend this as an upgrade. You can really see the pile lift as you vacuum. The telescopic handle is a great addition from the old models.

+ it does what it says on the tin. we had only just hoovered our carpets before receiving this product and using it - it retrieved a whole canisters worth of additional dust in one go

- the extending hose is a bit stiff in use

+ I HAVE PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED 2 OTHER DYSON OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS BUT THIS MODEL IS THE BEST I HAVE USED AND ALSO THE WIFE LIKES IT BEST OF ALL THE OTHER MODELS.
