Dyson DC14 All Floors Reviews: , Upright, Bagless Vacuum cleaner

+ The strength of suction is fantastic, and wonderful on hard floors as well as carpets. I thought my carpets were clean, but this proved me wrong, and I had been using an earlier Dyson upright. I do like the new emptying method with the remote lever to release the bottom of the bin.

- It is a pity that the machine is so heavy. I have bad wrists, and carrying it up and downstairs is a problem - partly solved by keeping the older mcahine upstairs, and the new one downstairs. It is a pity that the capacity of the collecting bin is smaller than the older design.

+ We have a very hairy dog! The pet hair tool is great for getting rid of those pesky dog hairs. It is easy to manouver and not too heavy (I have arthritis so this is very important!) Wish I had bought one sooner

- The leads are not easy to manually rewind and the machine is not easy to lift when needed. The cleaner has a very hard plastic feel about it particularly when using the atachments.

+ Unlike my old Dyson, the new Dyson is much easier to empty out, by just using the trigger located at the front, which allows the rubbish/dust to fall into the dustbin with ease. I had my old Dyson for 5 years and the only reason for purchasing my new one was to give my old one to my daughter for use in her new home.

- Just wish that it could go even lower when hoovering under items like the bed. Years ago, prior to owning a Dyson, my old hoover use to lay virtually flat on the floor, enabling me to get to awkward places like underneath the bed.

- I think its a bit tight to get the hose to reach the top of the staircase when hoovering the stairs.Seems a bit shorter on the hose etc . My DCo1 was longer i rekon ....

+ The suction on the vacuum is fantastic, no dirt stands a chance. It's not too heavy to carry up and down the stairs and all of the small ends fit snugly onto the vacuum so no chance of them getting lost.

- The extension arm is not very long.

- due to the strong suction this can be heavy to push around although you can change the setting to brush bars which makes it easier to push. The hoover itself is rather heavy to lift and i would not recommend this for people who would have trouble lifting heavy items.

+ excellent cleaner, the best I have ever purchased, so far. I would never by any other cleaner than a Dyson, it is second to none in my opinion. its suction qualities are brilliant, especially on dog hairs. I have severe back pain and to be able to just pull out the hose section without having to bend down to disconnect it from the main body and connect it elsewhere, (unlike many other cleaners on the market) is a blessing for me.

- There are no real bad points to the Dyson, except for my own use it could be a little more lighter in weight. Other than that, it gets more than top marks

+ Does everything required of it, picks up everything ,with two dogs I find they make a mess after going for a walk, I don't need to worry, seconds later & the mess is gone. My husband has an allergy to dust but he can use this Dyson without a problem, in fact it is so easy to empty too, no mess or fuss, just unclip & press a button, hold it over the bin & the job is done.

- I find it a bit heavy, but I suppose that is just a necessary evil.

I have had 2 Dyson hoovers the first one i had for nearly 9 years before anything went wrong with it,never had to change a belt or anything.Before i had a Dyson my hoovers maybe only lasted for about a couple of years then i would have to go out and buy another.May be slightly more expensive than a lot of hoovers but well worth the money.

+ Great pick-up of dirt. My carpets look like new...even tho' this Dyson replaced a previous version! Love the tram lines on the carpets showing what a good job I've done! Easier to empty than my DCO1 and the extendable arm is easier to put back than my old one. Also the dust is sucked up on hard floors rather than rolling away in front as it used to.

- Irritating high-pitched whine in use but the general roar is quieter than my old Dyson. Quite heavy and difficult to store as maybe all Dysons are?
