+ Very good performance, improved waste empty system over previous DC04. Tools improved over DC04

- Tools presfit some times difficult to remove. Catch a piece of string and the belt can easily burn through at the motor shaft causing concern and smoke, old DC04 had a more substantial transmission system.

+ Excellent suction - lifts the pile of the carpet. Carpets look like new!

+ This is an efficient and powerful vacuum. It cleans right to the edges (it really does). The accessories are easily stored and inserted and the two way wand is brilliant on the stairs. The new style drum is very easy to empty and the whole vacuum cleaner is easy as anything to keep clean. Everything that can be cleaned out comes apart with the minimum of fuss. The filter is simple to wash out....no money spent out on the old style filters...what a bonus.

- Like my old Dyson, I still find the handle cumbersome to hold, although it has improved on the old DC06. I guess you can't have the technology without giving up something and with the Dyson, it is the weight. It is slightly too heavy, though manageable.

- After having my previous Dyson (DC 1) for many years I was expecting this model to be an improvement but I would say the reverse is the case. It's much too heavy and much too tall. It is also extremely noisy. When using the tools, the flexible hose pulls the cleaner around with you instead of extending and gets in the way. I would also say that the tools are not as easily accessible as before.

- The only thing that I would say is if you are trying to hoover the stairs and your stairs are winding, you're going to have a bit of touble as the handle extension does not bend as it is a metal tube!!

- Can't get under radiators, furniture etc like my old Hoover upright, ever so unwieldy, have to use the tools too much.

- we accidentally hoovered over the cord first month and it cut through the outsisde plastic which has never happened with any other dyson we have had. Prefer the one with the adjustable head for different floors

- I would like to see the mini turbo brush head as part of the tools included with every dyson, flexihose can be suspect to spliting when vacumning staircases.

- Very noisy and does not clean edges as well as my last DC07. In fact, considering it was the same model as my last Dyson which was 5 years old, I was very disappointed in the newer model as I was expecting the same performance but in comparison my old Dyson was far superior.
