+ Manouvarabilty, weight, suction, collapsible design. Afters sales service excellent - had a problem with the unit. Dyson service engineer visited within 24 hours of call & fixed.

- Cannot carry unit using main handle. This could have been designed better. Mains chord should have been 1-2 Metres longer.

+ I suffer from osteoarthritis of the knees and have difficulty in walking and moving generally and have found the bigger traditional vacuum cleaners so difficult to manoevre that I put off using them until absolutely necessary. This is so light and responsive that although it needs emptying more often I almost enjoy vacuuming now! I have a big house with wooden and ceramic floors as well as fitted and loose carpets and it moves from one to the other with ease. My husband who doubted the power of a 650 watt machine had to admit he was wrong as it deals with everything superbly. I also have a lot of furniture and it moves around everything very easily. I like the fact the handle turns into the tool 'wand' as it makes it more compact and the storage when the handle is down is very neat.

- I would have liked a crevice tool as standard.

+ Excellent cleaning performance removes far more dust and dirt than my previous vacum cleaners.
Compact - easy to store in a fitted wardrobe - my storage space is limited.
Very manoeverable and cleans right up to the edges

- The only bad point I've found so far is that the extension tube is not really long enough and this makes its use very fiddly and less effective than it should be.

+ Powerful suction cleans everything in its path and the ball helps it glide around corners and under chairs/tables effortlessly; easy to empty and clean to the filters monthly and very compact to stow away as the handle lowers into the body.

- Sometimes a bit of a struggle to lower the rear wheels although improving with practice, but the lack of a soft brush is a nuisance and expensive option to bu separately.

+ Smaller than I expected having had a full size in the past but superb performance; would have liked a couple more tools but excellent value for money at £185ish

+ this works on carpets but i am amazed by its performance on wooden floors, it collects the fluff and dust so well that you can walk barefoot afterwards and it feels like you used a damp cloth on the floor.
i love this machine and i can honestly say i have never felt that about a hoover.
this is a step up from always buying sub £40 quid machines and paid £169 for it but extremely happy

- dusting using the little attached brush is not tactile, the brush feels stiff and would damage delicate surfaces or tip things over . but i really could care less.

+ Very light and simple to empty picks up well and once you get used to the different way to vacuum - great to use

- The brushes stopped the first day and had to ring for help, only to be told to hold the brush button down for a few seconds to reset them - shame it didn't mention this in the instructions, it would have saved a lot of heartache thinking the machine had broken on its first outing

- There is no nozzle as there is on the standard Dysons for doing edge of carpets etc. Cannot see any reason why there could not be. The brush attachment is not always suitable for all jobs.

+ Using the Dyson really does make cleaning quicker and easier. A great size for those living in a flat.

- Getting the stand bit to click into place takes a bit of practice.

- The suction hoose is a little flimsey, with limited length, which may be resticting for some requirement such as stairs and larger floor space. The varying price of this item depending where purchased is a little steep. However as the Dyson was purchaced at my wife requests, at a more reasonable price, and with these points having been considered she is more than happy with the purchase. She is also happy to recommened the model to fammily and friend.
