- Extendable hose twists on extension. Hose not very long due to springs too stiff inside. Vacuum pulls backwards when hose being extended any great distance, due to nature of design. These issues may improve after a little more use, as this is a new purchase.

- The hose is a bit short and the attchments a bit fiddly, it would be easier to just dettach and use, without having to attach other bits, like on the original DC01. When is Dyson going to make a retractable cable?

+ Lightweight and easy to manouevre. Small and compact - which is good for us because size was something that always put us off buying a dyson sooner.
It picks up hair really well and the carpet has never looked cleaner.
Overall we are very happy with the dyson and do not regret buying it.

- I find it a little awkward to use the nozzle as you have to take out the handle and then re-attach it the other way. Also, the hose it quite springy so it feels a bit awkward when you need to use the nozzle.
My daughter and I have quite long hair and it does get wrapped around the roller and I have to use the scissors to cut through the hair to remove it.

+ Easy to carry up and down stairs, great for a small place with little storage,love how easy it is to empty, not much effort to use a good buy.

- Electric cable could be longer as could the hose., and a pain to have to wash filters once a month unlike my other dysons which were every 6 months, maybe the reason it's a smaller machine guess there must be one!!!

+ A light and compact cleaner compared with the bigger models. Does what it supposed to do. I have the feeling that it was designed for flat or small house cleaning, rather than a four bed detached sort of space. Picks up cat/dog hair easily like it's bigger brothers. Overall, it's a great little machine.

- Not as powerful as a big Dyson, lead a little short, but for the market it's designed for, adequate. The motor in the brush head was flaky within a week or so but promptly fixed by Dyson. You need to be careful with the bottom when removing the flask from the machine as the bottom can open, with the dirty coming out over the machine. With practice that gets to be less of a problem.

- It is too easy to try and pick it up with the top handle rather than the handle on the dustcollector. This is likely to result in a drop causing damage to the unit.

+ Lightweght, so easy to take up stairs. Easy to manoeuvre and gets into corners and edges of skirtings. Big plus is the easy emptying. The old DC01 was sooooo messy!

- Would like a retractable cord but it doesn't take long to wind it up afterwards and they sometimes jam anyway! Needs to be emptied more often but no hardship.

+ The product is excellent & works really well. Makes me wonder why I hadn't bought it earlier.

- The design is such that I find it difficult to place the extension back in its place once its pulled out. Might take a little getting used to but I struggled for about 15 mins and eventually gave up till my husband came home & he struggled with it as well a bit before we managed to put it back together.

It is excellent for fitting in our cupboard in the utility as a larger upright vacuum would have to be out in our spare bedroom. It is light weight and has some great features. - Bit of a faff changing to use the one tool The question below: delivered on time and in good condition are two separate questions. No it wasn't delivered on time and yes it was in good condition

- Only bad point not enough wire to do the house with out changing the pulg., but that is a minor point.
This is the 5th Dyson I have had . I like the light weight about it find changing over to the hose a bit of a pain. The others I have had dco1 or 4 I think you just pulled out & you were off cleaning edges high things.

+ Small in size, handle telescopes down to fit in tight storage spaces. Excellent cleaning capabilities as will be seen by what ends up in canister. Assembles and converts fairly easily to wand/brush for trim and ceilings. Works well for a small house.

- Small canister must be emptied more frequently. Short power cord doesn't reach far. Hose a bit short when converted to wand/brush use- may have to hold unit up off floor in hand to stretch farther (unit light so not too difficult).

- i feel that the dust collecting cylinder could do with being just a little bigger, but not as big as the next size up dyson.

- Yes the dust collection space is a bit on the small side but this is the smaller Dyson machine - you really can not expect both. Same applies to the cord length and extention hose. These are not really bad points only facts of life.

+ The pick up of dirt is excellent! Its 100 times more powerful than any of our previous vacum cleaners we had (electrolux 3 in 1 and samsung cylinder) . The dyson is very light in weight and makes it easier to carry up and down the staircase. This was a prime decision when purcashing for my elderly parents.The ball design also makes it easier to turn the vacum cleaner around the room and steer around fixed furntiure. The handle even tilts right down to floor level so makes it easy to clean further under the bed.

- The assembly to convert the vacum cleaner to work so that it can clean the staircase is fiddly. You have to pull the handle out and turn it 180 degrees and reinsert extra pieces for it to work on the staircase. This is not easy if you are 74 years old and have shaky hands and joint pain etc. Also there are four buttons very near to each other which means you could easily press the wrong button, for example, the release button for the bag, the on and off button and the push button to adjust the height of the handle are all marked red and in close proximity to each other and I have ended up pressing the wrong one on many occassions! Whats more scary is the instruction manual states you must never lift the vacum cleaner by the handle as its not designed for this purpose. I suspect its also because the handle is made of very lightweight material and could easily break from its housing. Yet, its almost human nature to lift it via the handle and not by dust bag. Finally, the disassembly of the various filters is not that simple and you need quite sturdy hands and need to practice several times so that you remember how to do it without going back to the instruction book. Apart from these flaws the dyson is exceptional value for money (when in a sale) and clearly a powerful cleaner compared to other manufacturers.

- Handle slides out to easy and is sometimes difficult to use the foot peddle with out dis-abling the retovating wheel.
