+ Very good for getting rid of pet hairs (I have 3 dogs that are constantly shedding hair). Brings up the pile on the carpets, no matter how old.

- A bit confusing with regards the turning of this way and that, after always going straight. (Soon get into the new movement though)

- No auto-retractable cable stowage. Tends to stick due to good suction when carpet pile is deep, nevevrtheless moves OK on shorter pile. Small size of dust container means fairly frequent emptying particularly if a lot of fluff is picked up. Price seems high comparabl to other cleaners of same size. power and capacity

- Suction is not great but that's the payoff for lighterweight.

+ it is easy to use and light weight, love the fact it can do all floors. it has great suction and is east to empty. The ball technology is fantastic, the dyson just glides around the house making the house work less of a chore.

- The hose for the stairs is not long enough so you have to carry the dyson down the stairs as you go, but as it is light it is not to much trouble, and the cable to plug in to use the dyson could have been a bit longer, so you can at least do a couple of rooms.

+ Does a fantastic job - carpets look so clean. Easy to empty bin so even though it's small and you need to empty frequently, it doesn't matter. Small enough to put away easily and doesn't take up much space. Can vacuum whole house really quickly.

- A little bit heavy on the wrist so that could be a problem for someone with severe arthritis for example. That said it is generally so much smaller and lighter than a full size conventional cleaner that it more than makes up for this one thing.

- Not long enough flex. Too small "bag". Have to keep emptying it - annoying. Brush now now working. Have to get the book out and sort and I've only used it a few times.

- The hose is quite short and complicated to use. No where near as easy as my old DC03 model. I should have looked at the model before purchasing online as it is very small and only really suitable for a dolls house. It needs emptying after every room and the quick release emptying mechanism is not as good as it suggests.

+ This machine is light and compact for easy storage. Easy to empty and also the filter is so accessible and easy to clean. I have had many years of 'back trouble' and the requirement for a lighter machine was the deciding factor for choosing the DC 24 All floors.

- Unable to get as far under the furniture-due to the roller ball - which I had not previously thought about, I had a two cylinder Dyson previous to this one which I had for maybe 12-14 years and was very satisfied with it, now I am (getting on a bit) I needed something lighter to manoevre.

+ It is light, compact and so nice to have around the place. I live in a small cottage and have limited storage space so it is marvellous.

- As this is a small version of the 'ball' the dust tank is quite small and does need empyting regularly but other than that is it an excellent little vacuum cleaner. I wouldn't change it for anything else.

+ It is easily manoeuvarble in tight spots and the coarse bristles clean and raise the carpet pile. It is also light and the hose has good reach.

- Still learning to empty and clean the filters. Thats all.

+ It really works well and is light and easy to move around and carry. We empty the canister every time we use it and put the dust and fluff in our compost bin. The canister is a bit small but it's so easy to empty that we prefer not having old mess hanging around in it anyway.

- The mains cable is a bit too short and is fairly inflexible (stiff), so we have to re-plug it frequently and it's a bit harder to coil the cable than others we've had.

- Hose and power cable are not as long as other Dyson models. However, it is so lightweight that you can easily pick it up so the hose length is not a huge issue. Power cable is a little annoying but not enough to put you off buying.

+ It's lightweight and so really ease to use. It can change direction quickly due to the ball and it's easy to store as the handle folds in!

- Suction it's quite as strong as the bigger hoover, but it still picks up better than my old hoover!

+ It's very small, lightweight and stylish - ideal for a small house/flat! I've previously owned a Dyson for 10 years, but this new one gives amazingly better results despite being 1/3rd the size and I love using it; the roller-ball really is a great invention.

- It doesn't hold much dust, as you can only fill it to half of the plastic bin capacity - I have a one-bedroomed house and have to empty it 2-3 times (and no, my house isn't that dirty!). Having said that, the method to empty the bin is the simplest I've ever used so easy for anyone. Also, the extension hose doesn't reach the top of my stairs like the full-size Dyson - but it's lighter to carry up.

+ It may look small but man it packs a punch. After looking at the many models in the range I'm glad we went with this smaller unit. The head is about the same size as a normal cylinder cleaner which we had before, but the performance is so much better.

- When you put the handle down to store it doesn't click in place. Apart from that it’s brilliant!
