+ I wanted a lightweight cleaner which this is.

- Not very good to use when cleaning stairs etc the extentsion pipe is not long enough and the suction is not as good and as I have four flights of stairs in my house this is important to me. When emptying the container I have to put my hand in to get the pet hairs out.

+ Light weight for ladies.Good suction.

ONLY PROVIDED WITH ONE TOOL AND THE BRUSH GETS DOG HAIRS STUCK ON TO IT.

- Too complicated and time consuming to clean and use. Very small does not hold a lot of dirt. I feel like i'm pulling it apart half the time to clean or use different parts.

+ Nice and compact. Lightweight so easy to carry around. Takes up very little storage space. Good design and performs great on all floors.

- The hose is difficult to extend (needs bit of strength - not good with arthritis) Certainly doesn't reach up the stairs but then again the machine is so compact, it can easily be carried up and sit on the stairs. Also the flex is not really long enough.

- lots of them really not satisfied with this, thought there is no value for money absolulty over priced for what it does or lack of doing more to the point, it doesn't pick anywhere near how i expected and think its basically a ripp off.

+ Excellent vacuum for carpets, hard floors and ceramic floors, and I have two cats. Lightweight and easy to carry around, including (and this is important - see bad points) up and down the stairs as you vac them. The ball takes a bit of getting used to, but by second or third time around, it all becomes quite easy and you realise the benefits of the manoeverability and lightness. The dust container is easy to empty, although there is such a maze of little levers between the button pressed to detach it and the base, I wonder how long it wll be before one of them breaks. Easy to store due to the collapsible handle. Despite Which saying this was a rather noisy vac, I feel it's quieter than our previous Dyson (one of the first models) and the cats don't flee. Despite the drawbacks outlined below, I think I would still buy this again, for the price, the good job it does on floor cleaning, and ease of general use.

- The hose is too short. It will only reach about 4 or 5 steps, even with the extension attached (which makes stair cleaning very awkward) However, the vacuum is light enough to just use the hose and attachment, and carry up or down with you, resting it on a step while you clean (although necessary to hang on to it while you do) We live in an old house with high ceilings and even with the extension attached, I have to hold the vac in one hand while dusting the tops of the walls/ceilings. There is (somehow not surprising) an extension hose you can buy from Dyson. The dust container is a bit on the small side and I'm sure one or two extra cms in diameter wouldn't have added that much to the overall weight. However, you get used to emptying it a couple of times while you vac, and it's easy enough to do. I thought only one tool was a bit mean - there are others, but you have to buy them as extras. Despite the light weight, this might not be a good buy for less agile or older people, due to the need to carry on stairs and for high ceilings. If those aren't a problem for you, then it's good.

+ It's great for a home with pets, especially a dog which moults a lot like mine, it picks up every hair with ease. Very easy to manoeuvre and also quite light.

+ The main reason I purchased this cleaner was for the size and ease of storage which it has lived up to its expectations. You have the size of a cylinder but the ease of an upright due to the way the handle slides down the hose. Suctionm is very good also considering it is only a 1200. Very pleased.

+ Glides easily over all floor surfaces, lightweight and maneoverability is great

- Attaching the hose for stairs is a bit time consuming at first but get used to it easily.

+ The machine itself was very easy to assemble (no tools required) and the packaging was not at all excessive.Its ease of use is just as promised and its performance very good. In fact I would go as far as saying that in a lifetime of vacuuming this was the first time in 40 years i found it a joyous experience! My hearty congrats and admiration to Mr Dyson for the 2 innovations built into this machine - i consider him a true intellectual hero.

+ Very compact, very good "sucking" action,, I found the tool extension a bit complicated to start with but once I worked it out I really like it. I found the instructions a bit obscure - some narrative with the diagrams would have been helpful.

- A bit "plasticky".. I was a bit scared when I first emptied it that I was going to break some bit of plastic.

+ Pleasantly shocked how brillant this smaller Dyson is, 2 little grumbles as such which are firstly, the tool that provided is'nt a small nozzle, it's a larger type of nozzle would like a small nosed one like older & other machines have. Second, when the main handle is in compact folded mode it does'nt lock in place. I personaly would like it to lock when moving round and not having to fully extend it< if not required or only doing alittle quick clean up. Overall, I'm very happy with my Dyson purchase, with no lose of power even with a smaller sized wattage motor.

- Long hair gets stuck in the brush stopping it from rotating so make sure you clean it regularly and you don't get many accessories to help with difficult cleaning areas.
