- Noisy when not in use. Would not go to standby, had to switch off at the power point. Stopped working altogether after 3 weeks.

- Not being very good with things electronic [I am 79 ] I found the operating instructions somewhat confusing . They seemed to tell one what a lot of facilities the gadget had but was not too forthcoming on how to use the basics

+ Easy to set up. Remote control easy to use, buttons decent size for all sized fingers/people to see & use.
On screen display good, easy to use, fairly self-explanatory on screen, no real need to have to refer to the manual.

- Can't get as many Freeview channels as expected. Key ones can't view are ITV1, ITV2, Channel 4, E4, which is very frustrating.

+ Good sized hard disc for the price and reasonable display which shows channel tuned to etc. No major problems found yet with recorder.

- Not the smallest recorder on the market and sometimes noise while recording can be quite noticeable.

- Machine freezes periodically and has to be unplugged and then plugged back in to unlock.

+ DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE BOX! IT SEEMS RELIABLE, IS EASY TO OPERATE AND TOOK MINUTES TO INSTALL. . . JOB DONE!

- HAVEN'T COME ACCROSS THEM . . . YET!

+ search feature is useful, you can change the settings easily to adapt to what you want, child lock function, lots of channels and availability of top-up tv.

- it did miss the end of a programme that i wanted recording, not sure by how much, but i have now changed the settings so hopefully it wont happen again. No control panel on machine so if the remote control is lost or broken you wont be able to use it at all.
