Sounds better than the Goldring 1042 it replaced on my Rega P3 but that could be because I took much more care in setting the new cartridge up incl use of a HFS75 test record to test for tracking distortion. Also the 1042 was 9 years old!
Output level is plenty, don't need to adjust volume control. Tried it on the mc setting of my M-F X-LPS but preferred it on mm setting.
Brilliant value.
- None really.

It is a First rate product for the Price. Only Cartridges at 5 Times the Price, come with a tapered Cantilever.
I find the Sound very accurate, slightly on the Bright Side of Neutral.
- Takes Some setting Up to get the Tracking right, I have Been used to the Denon 103 which is a dream to set up because of the Spherical Stylus. I also found it Needed to be at the top of the tracking weight to master the standard Hi Fi News Standard tracking Tracks, and unlike the 103 which can even track the torture track , could not get anywhere near tracking it without distortion on at least one side.

+ Fantastic sound quality - detailed without sounding bright and warm without sounding dull - especially for the price. Hard to imagine how it could be bettered without spending ridiculous amounts of money.

+ Detailed sound, low surface noise, involving sound, good spacial definition of instruments
- Bass could be more powerful

+ A truly outstanding highoutput MC cartridge. A considerable step-up on my Linn K18 for considerably less money. The cartridge seems to avoid alot of surface noise that was more apparent with othewr cartridges I have tried in the past.
- A bitt fiddly to fit. Output slightly lower than MM carts, therefore need a phonostage with high gain to get the best from this cartridge.

+ Tremendous value for money high output moving coil cartridge. The cartridge tracks the record groove exceptionally well - better than a range of similarly priced moving magnet cartridges I have - and the sound is clear and natural. It is not over analytical nor does it emphasise bass and is therefore an easy choice when you don't know which higher priced cartridge is right for you! I doubt I will go on to spend more for some time...
- It is tempting to suppose spending more will yield even better results (hence an 8 for overall rating). It might, but I will consider phono amp upgrades first.

+ Remarkable sound for the money.

+ Classic high output mc cartridge providing very competitive sound at a price well below the more exotic niche brands.
- 'Bad' would be going too far. Some might find the cartridge over generous with the treble.

+ The DL160 is easy to fit at align as it has a large rectangular body and a stylus guard. Once settled down (after a few hours), the sound is smooth with a clear and well-projected vocal. It tracks well and some of the clicks and pops I heard with my previous cartridge are no longer audible. I'd say that this would be a good cartridge for a budget or mid-price turntable, and its fine as a temporary stop-gap on my Michell Orbe.
- Compared with my previous cartridge - a Sumiko Blue Point Special - the bass is a bit wooden and the treble isn't as crisp, and it lacks some of the airiness, but I'd say that vocals are as good. The Sumiko does cost a lot more, though. It's a good temporary measure, but I think the Orbe could do with something a bit more up-market.
